When newcomer Alexis (Thomas Sadoski) joins a Manhattan therapy group and reveals he wants to write a TV series based on their sessions, it threatens the group’s balance and exposes everyone’s vulnerabilities. Real-life psychoanalyst Dr. Elliot Zeisel plays himself in a film from Alexis Lloyd, which blends scripted and improvised elements to explore group therapy as it truly happens, blurring the line between performance and reality.
Abramorama will host a special engagement of Group: The Schopenhauer Effect at the QUAD Cinema in NYC on March 5, followed by a week-long run there starting March 13 before expanding to more select theaters.
