In 2014, Polish game developer 11 Bit Studios released This War of Mine, a war game that defied genre conventions by placing players in the role of desperate characters whose only goal was to survive. For the 10th anniversary of the game's release, 11 Bit Studios is inviting players back to the game with a new DLC, Forget Celebrations, which is raising money for multiple charities.

This War of Mine: Forget Celebrations will be available on Steam on December 11, with all proceeds going to War Child, Amnesty International, Liberty Ukraine, and Indie Games Poland Foundation. The DLC will place players in control of Katia, one of the supporting characters from the main game's storyline. For this story, Katia is now a veteran war correspondent and an author who is attempting to write about her experiences while chronicling the tragedies of wartime.

Katia's world is shattered when she's severely injured by a missile attack on the city of Pogoren. However, Katia still needs to make some hard choices in order to survive long enough to be rescued, and she also needs to recover her lost book materials before they--and the stories they contain--are lost forever to the haze of war.
