As a long-distance runner of 15 years, I've hit the pavement in dozens of sports bra, and many of these bras have been Lululemon. Because I'm from Canada, where the brand was founded, it has been my go-to activewear brand. I've sported Lululemon on both full and half marathon races, so when the brand announced their new Go Further Bra ($98), their most innovative sports bra for running, I was eager to try it out. The bra was tested by the ultrarunners at Further, a six-day women's ultramarathon event. While I wasn't running anywhere near those distances, I tried it out on a 10-mile run and 6-mile run to see if it's worth the hype and nearly $100 price tag.
About the Lululemon Go Further Bra
What I Like About the Lululemon Go Further Bra
My first thought when putting on the bra is that it is so lightweight and much less compressive than other sports bras I've tried. Some running sports bras can be hard to even put on, but I had no issues with this one. A defining feature of the bra is the Support Code technology, which makes it feel so comfortable while still delivering high-impact support as you start running. It claims to reduce breast movement without feeling too compressive, which I agree with.
As I ran, it was supportive but not too constricting. I sweat a lot while running, and it was a hot day (75 degrees), so some sweat did pool in the bra and absorb into the shirt I layered over it. As is typical when I run, I had a few sweat marks on my chest and stomach. That said, the bra did wick sweat, and once I took off the bra, it dried quickly.
Overall, this bra delivers. It's supportive, comfortable, and I don't notice any chafing. It's one I'll be adding to my regular rotation.
What to Consider Before Buying the Lululemon Go Further Bra
One thing to note is that it is a pull-on bra, so there is no back clasp and there isn't a way to adjust it. This didn't bother me from a performance standpoint, but I think it could have looked more flattering on my chest if I could adjust it. I tried this bra while postpartum, and it looked best when I was closer to a C cup. Now that I'm close to an A, it did gape a bit because the straps can't be made smaller.
