Forward-looking: Geometric Future specializes in minimalist PC cases designed to fit a variety of settings beyond traditional desk environments. The company recently introduced its first mini-ITX design, combining a sleek aesthetic with unique functionality. While the chassis doesn't support high-performance PCs, its compact design allows users to transport and install it almost anywhere.

Taiwan-based manufacturer Geometric Future is renowned for its aesthetically pleasing PC cases. The company recently unveiled details of its first entry into the mini PC market – the Model 0 Flamingo. The new chassis aims to provide a unique fusion of simplicity and portability.

The fold-out structure of the mini-ITX case is its most striking feature. Users can unfold the magnetic sides in seconds, requiring no screws or tools, for quick open-air access to internal components.

The 3-liter case, measuring 3.2 x 8.1 x 8.2 inches, is compact enough to fit in a backpack or suitcase, making it ideal for building travel workstations. It supports 6.7 x 6.7-inch ITX motherboards and CPU heatsinks up to 60mm in height. While its small size and included 200W mini PSU don't support dedicated graphics cards, a decent APU or integrated GPU can still deliver respectable 1080p gaming performance.

Like its larger counterparts, the Model 0 Flamingo is designed to look stylish on a table, entertainment center, or desk. Users can attach its magnetic gold-plated feet to the bottom or side of the unit, allowing for vertical or horizontal orientation.

While the website conspicuously hides the side of the Flamingo that hosts the I/O ports, the design exposes minimal protrusions. The power button is the only visible input, and the top ventilation intake mesh next to it resembles a speaker.

Geometric Future has yet to announce a release date or pricing for the Model 0, but retailer Dirac has reported that availability will begin on January 30.

For users who prefer 3D printing their cases, the Kubic design by modder WhoIsLudwig offers an intriguing alternative. This GameCube-inspired 180 x 180mm ITX chassis accommodates dual-slot GPUs up to 220mm in length, allowing for better graphics performance with mainstream dedicated cards.

For a different retro aesthetic, SilverStone has officially revealed the specs for its FLP01 ATX case, an April Fools' joke turned reality. Inspired by 1980s and 1990s PCs, such as the NEC-9800 series, the FLP01 features fake floppy drive covers that conceal optical drives and modern I/O ports. The case is expected to be available soon at a price of around $130.
