I've just spotted a deal proving that the good-sized 4K TVs don't have to cost the earth. Right now, you can own the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series 55-inch 4K TV for $279.99 (was $459.99). It was already a solid choice if you wanted a budget TV, but with a new $180 discount, it's now more affordable than ever.

This 4-Series model is the latest Fire TV from Amazon and boasts 4K Ultra HD resolution support, an Alexa Remote, HDR10 Plus for improved colors and lighting, a fast processor, and Dolby Audio. If 55 inches is too large, then the 50-inch and 43-inch alternatives are also heavily discounted right now.

Today's best Amazon Fire TV deal

We've not reviewed this specific model, but almost all other Amazon Fire TVs have reviewed well, including the Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED, which we rated four stars. We would therefore expect this 4-series TV to perform similarly, delivering a range of good specs for everyday use at a fraction of the price.

At the heart of the TV is a 4K picture with HDR10 Pplus technology that promises bright, crisp visuals with improved contrast. It's also fast thanks to a new quad-core processor and Wi-Fi 6 support. That means your favorite shows will load quickly and display smoothly.
