The 24-inch display features a curved design for better visibility in harsh overhead lighting as well as better contrast and color accuracy near the edges of the screen. You'll get great 1080p resolution for decent detailing while streaming, working, and gaming, and the LED panel is capable of reproducing up to 95% of the sRGB color gamut for more lifelike images. And with an integrated blue light filter and dedicated Eye Saver mode, the Essential S3 is designed to help reduce eye fatigue and strain during long work days or gaming marathons.

The Essential S3 has a refresh rate that is set to 60Hz by default for smooth motion while streaming, gaming, and making video calls, but it can be boosted to 100Hz for faster-paced media. With a response time of 4ms, it's not as fast as dedicated gaming screens, but it's still good for genres that don't require high-precision timing; and the dedicated game picture mode helps lower input latency for better response times. The Essential S3 also supports AMD FreeSync VRR technology to help reduce screen tearing and stuttering.

How I rated this deal

A decent monitor that doesn't cost a fortune can be difficult to find these days, but the Samsung Essential S3 is a great option if you need something that can pull double duty as a work screen and gaming monitor. With a max refresh rate of 100Hz and support for AMD FreeSync VRR, it's great for casual gaming as well as streaming and office work. And being able to pick one up for less than $100 makes this a tempting offer. That's why I gave this deal a 4/5 Editor's rating.

Amazon's Big Spring Sale runs March 25-31, 2026.
