These Sonos headphones are criminally underrated, and this Black Friday deal makes them all too easy to recommend

I've just found one of my favorite Black Friday deals so far, and it's on the most underrated pair of headphones I've ever used. Yes, you can snag the Sonos Ace for $269.99 at Best Buy (was $399.99) and £219 at Amazon (was £399), which means you'll save more than $120 / £180, depending on which side of the pond you fall.

You may be asking: what exactly makes these headphones underrated? Well, allow me to provide some context. When these cans launched, they received an incredibly mixed reception from critics and users alike. Some felt that they didn't supply the standard of audio quality you'd expect from Sonos, and weren't so sure on the high launch price.

But in my view, the Sonos Ace are actually a very solid sounding pairs of headphones, packing heaps of intoxicating bass and highly immersive audio. They're great for more energetic genres, like House, and they're also the best over-ear headphones for movies, thanks to their excellent handling of Dolby Atmos effects.

And now that they're on sale for a whole lot less, I think they offer plenty of value for money. Even around the $250 / £200 mark, I'd struggle to find many headphones that could compete with this stylish and feature-packed model.

In our Sonos Ace review we raved about these headphones for their excellent performance with movies, dual wireless and wired hi-res audio support, and smart looks.

If you're already deeply invested in the Sonos ecosystem, you may also appreciate their soundbar connectivity. This enables you to pair the Ace with a model like the Sonos Arc Ultra, and instantly switch audio output from headphones to soundbar (or vice versa). We found this to work incredibly well, describing the feature as "totally seamless".

I've spoken at length here about my appreciation for their immersive audio, but the Sonos Ace also plate up phenomenal comfort and style, making them ideal for long-term use. They also supply solid ANC, which will keep the outside world subdued when you're on public transport or in a busy area.

But the bottom line is this: the Sonos Ace have a lot of quality, and at just over $250 / £200, they're an excellent option. With the holiday season almost here, I'd strongly recommend them as a gift to a loved one...or to yourself.
