King Charles Sits Front Row at Fashion Week Hours After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Arrest

King Charles III didn’t pass up a chance to get on the ones and twos.

Indeed, the British monarch stepped into the DJ booth during his visit to Aviva Studios in Manchester, England, during a March 16 event in support of his King’s Trust charity.

During his visit, the 77-year-old got a lesson in DJ’ing from a young member of the organization—which focuses on helping youth from underserved communities find creative outlets and obtain skills to enter the workforce—Christian St. Louis and put his skills to the test.

Charles was photographed alongside Christian as he smiled while moving the controls on the turntable. In another photo, the king appeared focused as he learned how to properly work the dials.

Following the royal’s visit, Christian shared his “wicked” experience with the king.

“I showed him how to put the fade up and stop one track and fade the second one in,” the 22-year-old told People in an interview published March 16. “I got genuine energy from him; he didn’t seem like he was being forced to be here. He seemed like he wanted to be here and was pretty involved with the people who are here."

“He is a lot more quiet, a lot more composed than I imagined,” he added. “I got granddad vibes. When you think of your grandma and your granddad — it’s like someone you see wisdom [in]. He gives me that kind of energy.”

Charles’ latest outing comes a year after he put his music taste on display as he highlighted some of his favorite artist including Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Raye, Bob Marley and the Wailers and Beyoncé on his Apple Music 1 Radio special, The King’s Room ahead of the 50th anniversary of his charity.

At the time, Charles celebrated Queen Bey for her support for the King’s Trust (formally the Prince’s Trust) by adding her and Jay-Z’s 2003 hit “Crazy in Love” to his playlist.

“First from a performer so exceptional that I just couldn’t resist including her music,” Charles said during the broadcast. “She performed this song at then Prince’s Trust Fashion Rocks concert in the Royal Albert Hall in 2003. Now the King’s Trust international is turning 10 years old this year, and as I mentioned earlier, the renamed King’s Trust UK will reach its 50th anniversary next year.”

“I wanted to include an iconic musical moment from the many events which have supported my trust work for young people over all these years. Here is one of the trust’s most faithful supporters, the incomparable Beyoncé with her song ‘Crazy in Love.’”
