After a successful spring outing, Evil Empire's Triple-i Initiative Showcase will return this fall. The Bordeaux-based developer has prepared another celebration of upcoming indie games that's set to take place on Oct. 8. A counterpoint to the Geoff Keighley-hosted Game Awards, the event promises "No ads, no host, just games." Fans can expect to see world premieres, gameplay reveals, release dates, and other announcements spanning 40 games, including Dave the Diver, Risk of Rain 2, and the PvE pirate survival game Windrose.

Now in its third year, the not-for-profit Triple-i initiative has seen year-over-year growth all over the world, thanks to its focus on a more specific, dialed-in audience. Back in March, Evil Empire head of business Benjamin Laulan told Polygon, “It’s a really fine line that we’re walking on because we have different parameters to respect. We only have around 40 slots available, because if you want to stay true to your formula, there are 45 minutes. We receive more than 300 submissions, so it’s a lot of hard decisions to make.”
You have to make sure that the audience you’re bringing will resonate with the rest of the lineup,” Dupré said. “If you’re coming with 11 roguelikes, and your big world premiere is a soccer game, the soccer game might be disappointed with the reaction of the audience.”

In a press release accompanying today's announcement, Evil Empire says that unwavering focus on the games "has achieved high visibility for today’s best creative teams and the show continues to go from strength to strength." The upcoming show will bring even more exciting announcements, including eight exclusive world premieres. The show will also feature news on highly anticipated titles such as Hela: of Mice and Magic, Militsioner, the new Among Us title, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, Haunted Paws and Outward 2.
The 45-minute show will be broadcast on YouTube, Twitch, Steam, bilibili, and niconico on Oct. 8 at 12 p.m. ET.
