The truth behind Bad Bunny's 'engagement ring' at the Grammys is revealed after it sparked a fan frenzy

Bad Bunny sent fans into a frenzy during the 2026 Grammy Awards after stepping out with a gleaming ring that quickly set off engagement speculation online.

However, according to TMZ, a source familiar with the situation says the superstar, 31, is not engaged, despite social media sleuths zeroing in on the jewelry and questioning whether the singer had quietly proposed to a mystery partner.

The speculation erupted almost instantly as the ring was visible throughout the night, prompting fans to theorize about a secret romance. 

But the outlet reported there was no hidden meaning behind the accessory. 

It was simply an extravagant gift from Cartier, 'not an engagement ring, not a family heirloom, and not tied to any secret relationship.'

The source added that Bad Bunny chose to wear the statement piece to the award show, where he picked up three more trophies, out of his love for high-fashion.

TMZ also revealed that the singer is not currently dating anyone.

His last high-profile romance was with supermodel Kendall Jenner. 

The pair first sparked dating rumors in early 2023 and confirmed their relationship shortly afterward when they were spotted sharing a kiss following a sushi date in Los Angeles.

The couple largely kept their relationship private, but fans began speculating about a split later that year after Jenner shared cryptic messages and celebrated her birthday without the performer. 

By December 2023, multiple outlets reported that the pair had gone their separate ways.

Sources previously told Us Weekly that Jenner saw long-term potential with Bad Bunny, describing him as 'the complete package' and praising his confidence and how well he fit in with her friends. 

However, insiders later told People and Entertainment Tonight that the relationship gradually fizzled due to demanding schedules and a mutual understanding that it was unlikely to be permanent.

'They have crazy busy schedules and know they're still young and have a lot more to experience individually before settling down,' an insider told ET, at the time. 

The source added that there 'isn’t any negativity between them and they still want the best for one another.'

The insider revealed The Kardashians star's 'family still thinks highly of him.'

'They just want her to be with whoever makes her happy, treats her with love and respect.'

The family also hopes she finds 'someone that understands and can handle the attention that comes along with dating her with poise and grace.'

Months prior to their breakup, Jenner insisted that she wanted a traditional marriage and three kids, though she admitted she was not ready to settle down just yet.

While her mother Kris Jenner kept not so subtly hinting that she wants Kendall to have a kid, the model insisted that she was planning on taking her time. 

During an episode of The Kardashians, Kris tells Kendall that she had a dream about her having a baby, as Kendall asks, ‘With who?’

‘It wasn’t clear who it was with, it was just you had a baby,’ Kris says, asking if she’ll ever want to have a baby one day.

‘Of course. Three max. I’m cool with two, though. I just want my kid to for sure have a sibling, I know that,’ Kendall told her mom.

Prior to dating Kendall, Bad Bunny was in a long-term relationship with jewelry designer Gabriela Berlingeri from 2017 to 2022.
