Tom Cruise has announced he's set to star in a sequel to his 1990 movie Days of Thunder, most famous for introducing him to second wife Nicole Kidman.

He fell in love with the then unknown actress during filming and they married six months after the film's release. He filed for divorce in 2001 citing irreconcilable differences.

Now Randy Quaid, who appeared with them in Days of Thunder, is slamming the actor's decision to make a follow-up film with Anne Hathaway as his female lead.

'We need Nicole back,' Quaid, 75, wrote on X.

'The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole,' he added. 'That's the casting that would sell the idea.'
