The continuing absence of Poppy Tzaneros from Sydney's glamorous social scene is raising eyebrows among eastern suburbs and Scots College circles, sources say.
The interior designer, who hails from the famous O'Neil family and is married to shipping heir Anthony Tzaneros, has been conspicuously missing from a series of recent family gatherings and high-profile society events, we are told.
Her disappearance from public view has sparked chatter across the east, with some questioning why she has seemingly retreated even further from the spotlight than other members of the Tzaneros family amid the collapse of ACFS Port Logistics.
Last Friday, her husband Anthony was seen dining at Neil Perry's upmarket Double Bay restaurant Margaret alongside several prominent society figures. However, insiders claimed Poppy was not present.
According to the source, the other diners included Anthony's sister-in-law Deborah Symond O'Neil, who is a close friend of Poppy's; socialite Lou O'Neil, the daughter of the late Hayco founder Donald Hay; and high-profile publicist Montarna McDonald.
Poppy's absence was also reportedly noted at a family barbecue believed to have been held at Deb's home last Sunday, where Lou was present.

Furthermore, sources say Poppy failed to appear at Maree Andrew's annual Jimmy Choo event in Melbourne last Thursday – a glamorous pre-Derby Day fixture she has attended in the past.
It seems her withdrawal from the spotlight has been ongoing for some time.
Poppy skipped both Lou and Deb's children's birthday parties last month and has not commented on social media posts from those lavish celebrations.
Poppy's last confirmed public appearance was at Bondi Pilates queen Bernadette Sukkar's Y2K-themed birthday party in September.
She arrived with Anthony, carrying a Mini Kelly Hermès handbag valued at $29,100 and embracing the Noughties theme in a $1,350 Pucci Manuba-print shirt and straight-legged blue jeans.
She completed her look with green Amina Muaddi heels – worth around $600 on the resale market – and what appeared to be a Rolex watch.
Anthony, meanwhile, skipped the dress code, opting for a simple navy shirt and blue jeans, but added a designer touch with $1,520 Gucci sneakers.
Curiously, neither Poppy nor Anthony appeared in the social media photos shared by the birthday girl.

Without the Daily Mail's arrival shots, anyone scrolling through the party posts could have missed the couple's attendance altogether.
Poppy's continued absence comes as the Tzaneros family faces intense scrutiny during the financial crisis engulfing its freight business, ACFS Port Logistics.
The company, founded by Terry and Arthur Tzaneros in 2005, entered administration in August after mounting financial pressure – including a Federal Court winding-up application over nearly $60million in unpaid liabilities to the Australian Taxation Office.
The crisis intensified when Arthur resigned as chief executive and managing director, following the leak of WhatsApp messages regarding allegations involving students at his former school, Scots College, which drew widespread criticism.
Arthur later apologised for his 'insensitive' comments, while his father Terry assumed leadership during the administration process.
Despite the turmoil, the family has been working on a plan to recapitalise the business, which remains operational under administration.
In the fallout, family members have locked down their social media accounts and withdrawn behind the gates of their multimillion-dollar homes.
Poppy, married to Anthony – the younger brother of Arthur – has traditionally been a fixture at family functions and eastern suburbs society events.
While the Tzaneroses are understood to be keeping a low profile amid the collapse of ACFS Port Logistics, and are said to have enlisted a crisis PR firm to help downplay their personal wealth, Poppy's vanishing act is being viewed as particularly notable, prompting questions about why she has withdrawn so completely.
