“The Reunion: Laguna Beach” has a new trailer, released by Roku. The highly anticipated reunion special will be available on the streaming service on April 10. 

20 years since the MTV reality series came to a close, original cast members Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti, Kristin Cavallari, Trey Phillips, Talan Torriero, Christina Schuller, Lo Bosworth, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, Alex Hooser and Morgan Olsen are reuniting for the first time to relive their most iconic moments. 

“Featuring behind-the-scenes stories, cast reactions to iconic episodes and a return to Laguna Beach, they reflect on the friendships, love triangles and drama that changed their lives,” reads the logline. 

In addition to Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari, Liz Gateley, Lucilla D’Agostino, Barry Poznick and Bill Langworthy executive produced the special.

RELEASE DATES

Prime Video has announced that the upcoming feature-length documentary “Jerry West: The Logo” will be released on April 16.

Created by Propagate and Khalabo Ink Society, the documentary follows the life and career of NBA player Jerry West, whose “lifelong pursuit of winning was paved in sacrifice and loss.”

Directed by filmmaker Kenya Barris in his documentary debut, “Jerry West: The Logo” features what would become West’s final interviews as he opens up about his private struggles with depression, his failed marriage, complicated relationship with fatherhood, and “the persistent feeling of being an outsider.”

The documentary includes interviews with former and current NBA stars Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O’Neal, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, and West’s own wife and several of his children.

The film is executive produced by Mychelle Deschamps and Hale Rothstein for Khalabo Ink Society; Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Drew Buckley, Isabel San Vargas, and Linh Le of Propagate; and Steven Leckart and E Brian Dobbins. Jamie Nelsen and Susana Santiago also serve as producers.

EVENTS

The Marvels of Media Festival is returning for its fifth year. Celebrating work created by autistic media makers, the festival will take place March 26 through 28 at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. 

The festival will feature panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions, experimental shorts, a virtual reality project and more. Opening night will feature “Don’t Look Out” featuring “The Pitt’s” Tal Anderson, “Too Many Options” and “Keith.” Special guests include celebrity ambassador and “Love on the Spectrum’s” Dani Bowman and autistic filmmaker and disability advocate Jackson Tucker-Meyer.

“Over the past five years, Marvels of Media has grown into a powerful platform for autistic storytellers whose creativity, insight and originality are reshaping how we experience film and media,” said Josh Sapan, MoMI trustee and founder of Marvels of Media and Sapan Studio, in a statement. “This festival has become a movement that is expanding beyond NYC with theaters and cultural organizations across the country joining us in celebrating and sharing these remarkable voices.”

The festival has expanded its network of theater partners this year, with eight venues participating across the country. Those venues include North Fork Arts in Greenport, N.Y., the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, N.Y. and the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Va., among others.

Roku has announced the launch of Howdy, an ad-free subscription video-on-demand streaming service, that can be purchased as a Prime Video add-on for $2.99.

Through the new expansion, customers who subscribe to Howdy via Prime Video will gain access to Howdy’s extensive titles, which include content from Disney Entertainment, FilmRise, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. Discovery, alongside select Roku Original titles. Howdy joins Prime Video’s extensive collection of more than 100 subscription options in the United States.

Apple TV has set an Aug. 12 premiere date for Season 2 of its Spanish-language crime drama “Women in Blue,” with new episodes rolling out weekly through Sept. 30.

The series, created by Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi, returns with a storyline that continues to blend police procedural elements with historical and political themes. The second season follows María, played by Bárbara Mori, who has been promoted to lieutenant and is pulled into a complex investigation after the body of a student activist is discovered.

According to the official synopsis, “Women in Blue” Season 2 “will follow María (Mori), now promoted to lieutenant, as she finds herself torn between the rules she’s sworn to uphold and a relentless pull towards the truth when the body of a student activist is discovered, and the Azules are pulled into an investigation that reaches back to the student massacre of 1968. Before they can make sense of what they’ve found, the body of a person connected to that brutal chapter of history is found, sending shockwaves through the department.”

As the case unfolds, the investigation forces María and her team to confront both institutional corruption and the personal cost of pursuing justice.

The ensemble cast also includes Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez, Amorita Rasgado, Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappan, Horacio García Rojas and Bruno Bichir.

Produced by Lemon Studios, the drama features an entirely Latin American cast and crew and is executive produced by Rovzar, Wendy Riss, Alejandro Lozano, Erica Sánchez Su and Billy Rovzar.

“Running Wild with Bear Grylls” is back for a new season, premiering April 21 at 9 p.m. ET. The show follows the adventurer Bear Grylls as he “takes some of the most famous people on the planet into the wild for a 48-hour journey of a lifetime.”

This season’s celebrity guests include Matthew McConaughey, Elizabeth Banks, Uma Thurman, Rhys Darby, Colman Domingo, Tiffany Haddish, Rhys Darby, Machine Gun Kelly, and Michelle Monaghan. Grylls will lead the cast members across the globe, from Norway’s glacial wilderness to the mountains of Eryri in Wales.

“Running Wild with Bear Grylls” is produced by Propagate Content and The Natural Studios. Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Drew Buckley, Chris Grant, Grylls, Delbert Shoopman, Benjamin Simon and Derek Green from Everest Brand Group are executive producers, along with Robert Vanover, who also serves as showrunner.

The show airs on on Fox and will be available on Hulu the next day.

Dropout has released the trailer for the latest season of its actual-play series Dimension 20, with “Dimension 20: City Council of Darkness” set to premiere April 8.

The 14-episode installment marks a first for the series, shifting to the Vampire: The Masquerade system in partnership with White Wolf, known for its World of Darkness franchise.

The new season follows “a brood of flamboyant goth vampires exiled from their ancient castle and forced to assimilate into a painfully wholesome small town, where they unexpectedly find themselves running the local government.” The official synopsis adds: “Between zoning disputes, bloodthirsty urges, and mandatory bake sales, it’s undead chaos in the quaintest hellscape imaginable.”

The cast is led by returning Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan and features core players Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson and Lou Wilson, collectively known to fans as the “Intrepid Heroes.”

“Dimension 20” remains one of Dropout’s flagship titles, blending tabletop role-playing with improvised comedy storytelling. The platform, which launched in 2018, has built a dedicated subscriber base through original programming including “Game Changer” and “Very Important People.”

“Devil May Cry” is set to return for its second season on May 12, with a teaser trailer released alongside the announcement.

According to the official logline, the new season unfolds as: “A war between worlds ignites as Dante must battle the only force that mirrors his own: his estranged twin brother Vergil. In ‘Devil May Cry’ Season 2, Dante must confront his own devils and the feeling of family he lost as a child. With the reemergence of Vergil, will Dante lay to rest old demons or fall victim to them?”

The series is led by showrunner Adi Shankar and animation is handled by Studio Mir.

Voice cast members returning for Season 2 include Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, Robbie Daymond as Vergil and Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady.

Based on the hit Devil May Cry video game IP, the series centers on a sibling rivalry that unfolds as both a physical and psychological battle.
