Mariska Hargitay to Host Emmys 2026, the First Woman to Emcee in 15 Years
The lab results are in—Brittany Allen is positive for a 2026 Emmy nomination.
Less than a month after the Pitt actress, who played terminal cancer patient Roxie on season two, confirmed she submitted herself for Emmy consideration, she was among those named as contenders for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. (See the full list of Emmy nominations here.)
And it's an accolade she doesn't take lightly.
"Wow. Thank you for the support, everyone," Allen wrote in a July 8 Instagram post following the news. "Deeply honored."
Indeed, the 40-year-old's nomination is one of 25 picked up by The Pitt, with the medical drama receiving the most out of any TV series of the year.
As for who Allen will face off against in the Guest Actress in a Drama Series category? She's nominated alongside two Pitt costars, Tal Anderson, who played Becca King, the autistic sister of Taylor Dearden's Mel King, and Tina Ivlev, who portrayed sexual assault victim Ilana Miller. Rounding out the category are Miriam Shor (Plurbius), Merritt Weaver (The Gilded Age) and Shailene Woodley (Paradise).
Back in June, Allen detailed her decision to submit for the Emmys after learning she was not part of HBO Max’s submission package. And for her, it came down to how her character’s fate played out.
Upon learning she was not included in HBO's submission package, she took matters into her own hands. Indeed, after it was revealed that Allen's character died off-screen, bringing her total number of episodes to seven rather than the eight she filmed, it put her in the screen time eligibility window for the guest actress category rather than supporting actress. (Her Pitt costars Dearden, Fiona Dourif, Katherine LaNasa and Sepideh Moafi are nominated in that category this year.)

"I was waiting to see if they would include that scene they had shot," Allen told Variety in an interview published June 16. “When I saw that they just had her pass away off camera, first of all, I thought that was a beautiful decision creatively. And then it opened the door for me to be eligible, which was, oh my God, exciting."
