The Opening Script Pages of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Are Now Online

1 day ago 6

We’re just about three months out from Spider-Man’s highly anticipated return to the big screen, and now, we know exactly how the film starts. In an insanely fun piece of marketing, Sony released the first three pages of the script to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, complete with notes from stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and others. And there is a lot to dig into.

The pages come via Entertainment Weekly, which exclusively debuted them. And, clearly, this is all very calculated. It’s not like these were leaked or scanned somewhere. It’s also probably unlikely that all these people would make notes on the same copy of the script. So, it’s all just for this fun, online reveal. But we love it anyway.

In the pages, we learn how the film opens and more. But the good news is basically it’s just everything from the trailer, so very, very little is spoiled. Here are the pages. Click each to blow them up.

Again, there’s a lot going on there, both in the script itself and in the totally real, not at all fake notes.

We learn that Peter is starting to feel something wrong with his body. We learn that he’s got a new AI to help him, named EV, and a 3D printer that helps him with his Spidey stuff. He follows Ned and MJ on social media as they go to college and is still really struggling with the decision he made at the end of the last film. But that drove him forward, and he has a new suit that is specifically inspired by the other Peters he met in that film.

Then, as we said, basically everything we read here is in the trailer. There are no major spoilers. Just a very tight way to reintroduce audiences to this world before Peter pulls down his mask and files away. Spider-Man is back.

We’ll have more on Spider-Man: Brand New Day as we approach its July 31 release date. Do you love this marketing as much as we do?
