  • OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus Watch Lite
  • It's lightweight, thin, and affordable
  • The watch won't be available in the US

OnePlus previously said the OnePlus Watch Lite was on the way, and now the affordable wearable is official: it comes in a single 45 mm size, with up to 10 days of battery life and a 1.46-inch screen that reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

That exceeds the 2,200 nits peak brightness of the OnePlus Watch 3, and another key reason you might want to choose the Lite model is the price. This will currently cost £159 / €159 on the OnePlus site, compared with $499 / £269 / AU$499 / €299 for the flagship model. It's important to note that the new model isn't going to be available in the US or Australia.

With all of the specs, features, and prices factored in, this might just be the best value smartwatch that OnePlus has put out yet – though we'll need to test it to be sure. You can pick it up in two colors, either Black Steel or Silver Steel.

Another difference from the OnePlus Watch 3 is that you don't get Google's Wear OS software here. Instead, there's the OxygenOS Watch 7.1 operating system developed by OnePlus, featuring a simple, straightforward look.

Design and tracking

In terms of design, there are definite OnePlus Watch 3 touches here – including the rotating crown and the sensor on the right of the casing. The sensor powers the 60-second health check we've seen on previous OnePlus smartwatches.

Importantly, though, the OnePlus Watch Lite is thinner and lighter than the model that preceded it, as the name suggests. That's a bonus if you're going to be using it to track exercise and sleep.

Speaking of activity tracking, the watch is capable of keeping tabs on heart rate, blood oxygen, and over 100 workout types. It has an IP68 rating for waterproofing and dustproofing, and can be worn while swimming. The latter is thanks to a 5 ATM rating that equals a depth of 50 meters.

Another notable feature: the OnePlus Watch Lite can connect to iPhones as well as Android devices, so it's an alternative to the best Apple Watches. Alongside the watch, OnePlus has also launched the OnePlus Pad Go 2 and the OnePlus 15R.
