The Office, one of the most beloved sitcoms in television history, is officially returning in two weeks with new footage that wasn't included in its original broadcast. In the 21 years since it began in 2005, The Office has gone down as one of the greatest American sitcoms ever made. Its "mockumentary" style still influences television to this day, it launched the careers of several stars like John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson, and it still has millions of fans the world over.
Though it's been done for 12 years now, NBC Universal has continued giving fans of The Office more content. It inspired a spinoff series, The Paper, in 2025, 12 years after the ending of The Office first aired. In 2020, NBC released The Office Superfan Episodes, which included bonus material and extended scenes that were edited in the original version that aired on broadcast television. The Office season 9's Superfan episodes also released earlier this year and rocketed the show to Peacock's number 1 streaming position.
Now, a year after the premiere of The Paper season 1 and six years after the release of the Superfan Episodes, The Office is returning again. This new release, The Office Superfan Extended Episodes, will be available on digital and Blu-ray on July 14 (via Universal). A listing for the collection on Amazon has the physical Blu-ray price set at $70, and it will mark the first time new footage from The Office has been released since 2020.

Universal at Home describes the new release as "the ultimate version of The Office—bigger, longer, and more uncomfortably hilarious than ever before." The new release will also have "deeper" character moments and jokes that were originally cut from episodes.
All 9 The Office Seasons, Ranked Worst To Best
The Office remains one of the best comedy shows on TV, but throughout the nine-season run, the series had some highs and lows along the way.
Presumably, some of this footage is also included in the Superfan Episodes that are currently available to stream on Peacock. The press release also specifies that this new edition spans 194 extended episodes, while the Superfan edition on Peacock is closer to 100 episodes. The 194 extended episodes will also presumably include extended versions of The Office season 9 episodes, which were not included in the original 2020 release of the Superfan episodes.
The Office Superfan Extended Episodes Proves The Show's Legacy Is Still Going Strong
The upcoming release of The Office Superfan Extended Episodes also proves that the show has an enormous legacy that isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The Office ended over a decade ago, yet it still has enough dedicated fans to spur the release of new footage and an entire physical release in 2026. NBC Universal wouldn't have announced this new edition if The Office wasn't still popular and profitable.
The Office's first spinoff series, The Paper, is another great sign of how strong the series is. The Paper season 2 was renewed even before the first season premiered, and it's set to be released on Peacock on September 9. The Paper also only has a few loose connections to The Office, such as Oscar Nuñez's character, which proves that the formula, sense of humor, and creative team of The Office has quite a bit of longevity.
