Shrishty is a decade-old journalist covering a variety of beats between politics to pop culture, but movies are her first love, which led her to study Film and TV Development at UCLAx. She lives and breathes cinema and sometimes wakes up with the close-up shot of Ryan Gosling's hands playing piano in La La Land, in her head.

She has worked with numerous media outlets, including Burda Media (MSN News), DKODING Media, The Voice of Fashion, Hindustan Times, and more. Throughout her career, she has interviewed an array of people, from CEOs and politicians to filmmakers and farmers.

There’s always a Twihard in a friend's group: a person who knows all the details about The Twilight Saga, the behind-the-scenes details, and every minute reference from the source material. The franchise’s fan base is still going strong even two decades after its initial release. Such is the effect of Stephenie Meyer’s work on pop culture, and why not? Vampires were looked upon very differently in cinema till Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart-led feature took the world by storm.

Twilight movies not only revived the young adult genre but also paved the way for shows like The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and Teen Wolf. The impact is undeniable as the franchise has seen a resurgence in recent times on various streaming services. Fans love it for its nostalgic hit, (now) campy dialogue, and the moody environment. The movies came out at a time when various fandoms were just starting to break out, such as The Hunger Games, the MCU, The Chronicles of Narnia, and more. Over the course of five movies between 2008 and 2012, the Twilight franchise earned $3.3 billion worldwide.

The story is simple: we follow Bella Swan (Stewart), who falls in love with her high school peer and secret vampire Edward (Pattinson), but they can’t get together because, obviously, Bella has to leave her humanity and her loved ones behind. It then takes fans on a journey of heartbreak, love triangle, reunion, and a war to protect their family over the course of the following four films, viz., New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2. Now, fans can relive Edward and Bella’s love story without jumping streamers as The Twilight Saga has found an exclusive home on HBO Max.

Are ‘Twilight’ Movies Worth My Time?

Yes, if you like vegetarian vampires. That said, the movies are actually worth a shot if one likes the young adult or romance genre. The lore in the movies isn’t as deep as the books, but it keeps one entertained and involved in this fantastical world where vampires, humans, and wolves inhabit the same town. It actually has some brilliant scenes, like the baseball scene in the first movie and a battle sequence in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Along with Stewart and Pattinson, Taylor Lautner has given a great performance as werewolf Jacob. Also starring are Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Billy Burke, Edi Gathegi, Anna Kendrick, and more.

Check out the entire Twilight Saga on HBO Max and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
