Strap in for an adventure with Baby Yoda and Din Djarin because Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to stream on Disney Plus in September. Along with this news, Disney also shared that there will be an accompanying podcast and an animated special called Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian dropping on the same day. The company announced the news on Friday, ahead of its big D23 entertainment showcase tonight.
The movie, which was released in theaters in May, follows the TV series’ charming duo as they’re enlisted to help the New Republic track down a warlord. Mando and Grogu get caught in the middle of a Hutt family conflict, putting their mission at risk. Fights, starry flights and action throttle everything forward in a story that stars Pedro Pascal as Din/Mandalorian and also features Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White and Martin Scorsese in its cast.
Release date for The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney Plus
Fans can stream The Mandalorian and Grogu movie when it hits Disney Plus on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Additionally, the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu podcast will debut two episodes on that same date on Disney Plus at 6 p.m. PT (9 p.m. ET), taking viewers behind the scenes of the making of the film. The podcast will also be available on YouTube (in video format), as well as audio versions on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, Amazon Music and other platforms.
The animated Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian will also premiere on the streamer on Sept. 2. It’s a brick-based retelling of the first three series of the TV show.
