‘The Madison’ Delivers Taylor Sheridan’s Biggest Series Debut Ever

Taylor Sheridan has served up another hit for Paramount. The Madison‘s premiere episode has wrangled 8M streaming views globally in its first 10 days on Paramount+, making it the prolific TV creator’s biggest series launch ever.

The series, which premiered with three episodes on March 14, is also Sheridan’s biggest series debut specifically among women 35+, Paramount said Thursday.

The Madison also appeared in Luminate’s Top 5 most-watched streaming series for the week of March 13 to 19. Luminate ranks TV seasons by minutes watched, which put The Madison at No. 5, but it actually led all series in terms of streaming views (defined generally as time spent viewing divided by total runtime).

While The Madison is Sheridan’s best series launch, it is not his best-performing season debut overall. The Season 2 premiere of Landman tallied 9.2M streaming views in just two days. The company recently changed its audience metric to streaming views (previously reporting total viewers), so there is not available data to compare with most other season debuts in the Sheridan-verse.

The Madison, which has already been renewed for a second season, is described as Sheridan’s most intimate work to date and a study of grief and human connection. It unfolds across Montana and Manhattan as it examines family ties.

The series stars Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, Matthew Fox and Will Arnett. It is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.

The Madison is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell and Keith Cox. Voros directs all six episodes of the debut season.
