The Logies snubbed list: ALI DAHER reveals the stars of 2026's biggest shows who didn't get an invite - despite being nominated for awards

Some of Australian television's biggest reality stars will be watching this year's Logies from home after being left off the guest list.

The entire 2026 Married At First Sight cast reportedly missed out on invitations to the glittering ceremony at The Star Sydney on August 16.

Scott McCristal, Joel Moses, Grayson McIvor and Luke Fourniotis are among those not expected on the red carpet, while former golden couple Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov will also be absent following their recent split.

The pair became the standout success story of the experiment after leaving engaged, but their relationship ended just weeks before television's night of nights.

An industry insider explained that the break-up had weakened the case for inviting either star.

'Stella and Filip were once considered the season's fairytale success story, but after their split there was little reason to invite them as a couple,' the source told Daily Mail.

'Individually, neither has maintained the same profile they enjoyed immediately after the experiment. With seats limited, organisers were always more likely to give those places to the show's experts.'

A second source added: 'The Logies is not a MAFS reunion. Once the relationship ended, the appeal of having any of the cast on the carpet largely disappeared.'

More controversial cast members Danny Hewitt, Bec Zacharia, Gia Fleur and Juliette Chae are also not invited.  

Instead, relationship experts John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla are believed to be the official representatives for the nominated Nine program.

The move is likely to disappoint viewers, given MAFS once again dominated water-cooler conversations - despite being up for Best Structured Reality Program.

But the brides and grooms aren't the only reality favourites missing from television's night of nights.

Golden Bachelor couple Barry 'Bear' Myrden and Sunny Long told Daily Mail they have not heard anything about the awards and are still waiting for an invitation.

Their absence is particularly awkward because The Golden Bachelor is competing against MAFS in the Best Structured Reality Program category.

Former Block contestants are also understood to have been overlooked, despite The Block securing a nomination for Best Competition Reality Program. 

'Bear and Sunny thought an invitation might arrive because The Golden Bachelor is nominated. As the ceremony drew closer, it became clear that it probably wasn't coming,' an insider said. 

'The official line is that seats are limited, but there are cast members who feel the more controversial personalities have made organisers wary of inviting anyone from the season.'

'Nobody wants an unpredictable acceptance speech or a red-carpet controversy overshadowing the awards,' the insider claimed.

'The Block faces the same issue. The program is invited to the party, but many of the personalities who made it popular aren't.'

'It isn't necessarily personal. The guest list is a complicated negotiation between organisers, networks, publicists and production companies.'

The apparent snubs follow an extraordinary invitation mix-up involving former Home and Away star Lynne McGranger.

McGranger, 73, claimed she hadn't been invited back to the Logies - just one year after taking home the ceremony's biggest prize.

She said fellow Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur was stunned when she broke the news.

'I was talking to Larry the other day and he said, 'What?' McGranger told The Sunday Telegraph.

However, the veteran actress insisted she was not losing sleep over the apparent omission and suspected it was simply a mistake.

'Honestly, I'm not crying myself to sleep,' she said.

McGranger said she would consider returning next year, possibly to present an award.

However, Logies organisers disputed her account, stating that an invitation was sent to her agent in June.

A representative told TV Tonight that a follow-up reminder was acknowledged before McGranger's manager formally declined via the event's online portal.

Organisers said previous Gold Logie winners are routinely welcomed back to the ceremony.

McGranger is understood to be unavailable due to travel commitments.

The confusion comes as the beloved star begins a new chapter, ending her 33-year stint as Irene Roberts on Home and Away.

She recently joined the celebrity adventure series Shark!, aiming to show that older women shouldn't feel invisible.

McGranger said the program encouraged her to leave her comfort zone after decades on the Seven soap.

She also hopes to return to the stage, having worked extensively in theatre before becoming a household name in Summer Bay.

Meanwhile, the exclusion of this year's MAFS contestants continues a long-running Logies tradition: few cast members from the controversial experiment are invited, regardless of the show's ratings or cultural impact.

Aiken previously acknowledged that the guest list was outside the control of both the show and its stars.

'It's a privilege to be invited, but it's completely out of my hands and out of the hands of the talent,' he said.

'Every year people are going to miss out, but you have no control over it.'

He also joked that allowing the brides and grooms to accept an award could be a risky proposition.

'You'd have no idea what they're going to say,' he laughed. 

The experts may need to brace themselves for another roasting.

At the 2025 Logies, host Sam Pang savaged MAFS in his opening monologue, targeting its casting and scandal-filled dinner parties.

Cameras caught Aiken looking visibly stony-faced during the routine, though he’d admitted beforehand that being mocked comes with being on one of Australia’s most talked-about shows.

MAFS is now in its 13th season and has been sold to more than 120 countries—but it has never won a Logie.

This year it competes for Best Structured Reality Program against Farmer Wants A Wife, Gogglebox Australia, Muster Dogs, The Golden Bachelor and The Hospital: In The Deep End.
