Masters of the Universe

Deadline reports Morena Baccarin will play The Sorceress opposite Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto  in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.

Silencer

Deadline additionally has word Ben Jacoby (The First Omen) has been hired to write a film adaptation of Thomas Ray’s sci-fi/spy novella, Silencer, for Paramount. According to the synopsis, Silencer follows “a CIA field agent who is sent to bring in the ultimate CIA target who’s been out in the cold for decades. An operative who dates back to the dark times of MK Ultra, the target is a silencer—someone who can read minds, and wipe them from a distance, making him impossible to find or catch.”

Ithaqua

Bloody-Disgusting has a poster for Ithaqua, the latest offering from Hammer Films “set in the brutal wilderness of 1800’s Canada.” Taking place at a time “the fur trade is in decline and a remote outpost is starving,” the story concerns “a mercenary [who] fights to unite the survivors against the cold, the hunger…and something far worse.” Luke Hemsworth, Kevin Durand, Michael Pitt, Craig Lauzon, and Leenah Robinson are attached to star.

The WeedHacker Massacre

The director of a horror remake pleads for additional funding as “our actors and crew keep disappearing” in this meta-trailer for The WeedHacker Massacre.

Sanctuary

According to Variety, producer Álex de la Iglesia (The Day of the Beast) and Carolina Bang’s Pokeepsie Films have teamed to adapt the dystopian sci-fi podcast, Sanctuary, into an “eight-episode thriller series” starring Lucía Guerrero and Aura Garrido. Directed by Ruiz-Gallardón and Zoe Berriatúa, the series is said to be set “after a climate disaster” and concerns “pregnant women [who] live in the Sanctuary, a dome that protects them from pollution. Far from their families and society, they are cared for and at peace. Or so they believe…”

Severance

Spoiler TV has a brief synopsis for “Trojan’s Horse,” the fifth episode of Severance‘s second season.
