As one of the front-runners of the season, viewers were shocked to see Pascal decide to leave the competition for Joan’s heart behind. Pascal wanted to work on himself before giving his heart to someone else and made it clear that he felt strongly for Joan, but didn’t want to take her time away from two men who would be able to treat her better than he would. Although Pascal may have left the show on decent terms, he’s spoken out about his genuine feelings for some of the other men of The Golden Bachelorette and alienated himself from viewers.
Pascal Shouldn't Have Called Chock A Stalker
He Should Have Chosen His Words More Carefully
Although he’s since apologized, Pascal shared his initial thoughts about the remaining men on The Golden Bachelorette in an interview after his exit, and he wasn’t kind about his feelings for Chock. Though Pascal appeared to get along with a lot of the other men on The Golden Bachelorette, Chock didn’t make deep connections with anyone aside from Joan, and Pascal wasn’t shy about sharing his thoughts on that. Calling Chock a stalker, Pascal shared that he felt the way Chock was with Joan during group dates was discomforting.

While Chock may have red flags of his own, Pascal shouldn’t have opened up quite so much about his feelings for his fellow Golden Bachelorette contestant. Rather than speaking up about how he was feeling about Chock’s behavior, Pascal should’ve stuck to his own experience on the show and his feelings for Joan, the process, and his future after the series. Though he may have had negative thoughts about Chock’s time on the show, Pascal should’ve kept quiet instead of airing them out unnecessarily.
Pascal Wasn't Right For Joan
His Charm Was Too Put Upon
Although Pascal and Joan seemed to have a good time together, it was clear from early on that their match wasn’t going to be one that worked out long-term. Pascal’s behavior both during the show’s filming and after the fact has been concerning, as he’s been open about his negative opinions about nearly everything, including The Bachelor’s Kelsey Anderson & Joey Graziadei. With Pascal being so vocal about his opposing views, his personality would’ve clashed even more with Joan outside of the series. The pair may have been attracted to one another, but they wouldn’t have been a good long-term match.
Pascal Shouldn't Be Cast As The Golden Bachelor
He Isn’t Ready For The Pressure
Although many have wondered if Pascal could be named the next Golden Bachelor, he shouldn’t be able to take on the leading role after his performance post-Golden Bachelorette. Pascal may have been charming early on in the season, but as things progressed, it became evident that he wasn’t ready to take on a relationship. With an inability to love someone else, putting Pascal into the leading role of Golden Bachelor would simply create more heartbreak and bring more of his dissenting opinions to the spotlight. The Golden Bachelorette should be the end of the road for Pascal’s Bachelor franchise appearances.
The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
