The Golden Bachelorette: Pascal Ibgui As The Next Golden Bachelor Would Be Captivating To Watch (Villain Leads Are The Most Entertaining)

4 days ago 3

Pascal Ibgui's exit from The Golden Bachelorette transformed him into the season's villain, but he'd be a captivating choice for The Golden Bachelor. At 69 years of age, the salon owner from Chicago, Illinois, was one of the oldest men who had traveled to the Bachelor mansion to date Joan Vassos, but he had a very young energy. Joan made her television debut during The Golden Bachelor, but she went home early due to a family emergency and was later cast as the Bachelor spin-off's first female lead.

On the first night of the season, 61-year-old Joan greeted her 24 The Golden Bachelorette contestants, including Pascal. She was instantly charmed by his good looks and his French accent. Joan and Pascal continued to get closer, and she ultimately met his family and gave him one of her final three roses. During their overnight date, Pascal was spooked by a symbolic bonding exercise, and he confessed to Joan that he saw her as just a friend. After breaking Joan's heart, Pascal packed his bags and went home.

Joan & Pascal Fell Apart

An Epic Meltdown

The charming, stylish Pascal seemed to have it all, including Joan. He received the second solo date of the season and was whisked away for a Las Vegas dream date. Things seemed to be going great between Joan and Pascal, and he looked poised to potentially walk away from The Golden Bachelorette season 1 with Joan's final rose and her heart. Pascal made it to Joan's final three, and they were both looking forward to their overnight date, but the evening ended in tears.

The show's producers set up a bonding ritual for Joan and Pascal during their overnight date. Though it was only symbolic, the ritual freaked Pascal out. It made him question his feelings for Joan, and he didn't like the answers. He realized he wasn't feeling good about the relationship. Though some fans are angry at Pascal, it's for the best that he was honest with Joan before she offered him one of her final two roses. In a scene posted to YouTube by Bachelor Nation, Joan and Pascal painfully break up.

Villain Leads Are The Most Entertaining

Fans are understandably angry at Pascal for what they perceive as wasting Joan's time. It certainly didn't seem like Pascal saw Joan as a friend when he was introducing her to his family or kissing her. If Pascal wasn't interested in Joan, he should have told her sooner instead of continuing to waste her time as he progressed through each elimination on The Golden Bachelorette season 1.

It was unfair for Pascal to accept one of her final three roses when he likely already knew that his feelings just weren't there.

While Pascal may not be the most popular contestant on The Golden Bachelorette season 1, that doesn't mean he wouldn't make a very entertaining lead. Despite his newfound reputation as a villain, franchise producers should consider casting Pascal as the next The Golden Bachelor. Villains are characters people love to hate, so a villain turned Bachelor lead could be entertaining.

Pascal's Season Would Be Fun To Watch

He's Similar To Gerry

Pascal started The Golden Bachelorette season 1 as a fan favorite, but his self-elimination from the show hurt his image and turned him into the season's villain. It wouldn't be the first time a Bachelor lead has transformed into a villain. The Golden Bachelor season 1 ended with 72-year-old Gerry Turner giving his final rose to 70-year-old Theresa Nist. The two were married within weeks of going public with their relationship and were promptly divorced just three short months later.

When the split was announced, fans turned on Gerry, whom they blamed for the divorce.

Gerry's reputation took a big hit, but no one could ever accuse him of being not being entertaining enough. Bachelor producers aren't matchmakers as their job is to produce an entertaining show. Pascal may not seem like the obvious choice for The Golden Bachelor, but he'd be fun to watch. He'd also attract an interesting group of women, which could add a whole other level of entertainment.
