The trailer for The Forest Hills reveals a glimpse at the final performance of late actress Shelley Duvall. Duvall is best known for her performances in Robert Altman movies including Popeye, Nashville, and 3 Women as well as her role as Wendy Torrance in 1980's The Shining. Although she left Hollywood after her role in the 2002 movie Manna From Heaven, she returned for the independent horror movie after writer-director Scott Goldberg reached out to see if she would be interested in participating in the project, which became her final role before her death from complications from diabetes in 2024.

The official The Forest Hills YouTube account has shared the official trailer for the movie, which is now available for purchase on DVD and Blu-Ray on the movie's official web site. The trailer unveils the story of Rico (Chiko Mendez), who begins to feel a burgeoning bloodlust after an incident in the Catskill woods which complicates his already difficult relationship with his family including Mama (Duvall), who is seen reminiscing about the time she locked him in the car when he is younger.
