When Bethesda first unveiled The Elder Scrolls 6 with a brief teaser trailer at E3 on June 10, 2018, fans were absolutely hyped for Skyrim's official successor. Nearly eight years later, however, that announcement remains little more than a distant memory. Beyond the original 36-second teaser and a handful of occasional comments from Bethesda executives, the studio has shared virtually no substantial footage, gameplay, story details, or concrete information about what could be the most anticipated open-world RPG of all time.

Most recently, after the official announcement of a series of new Skyrim DLCs such as Heart of the Mountain and Baan Dar Blades, frustration around The Elder Scrolls 6 is hitting its peak (via X).

If you've been following along with the official The Elder Scrolls account on X and other major platforms, you've likely noticed the wave of new promotions related to new Creation DLC content such as Heart of the Mountain. Creation DLCs for Skyrim are official, curated add-ons available through Bethesda's Creation Club platform.

These add-ons range from new quests and weapons to player homes, pets, and gameplay features, offering fresh experiences beyond the base game. Many of the most popular Creations were bundled into the Skyrim Anniversary Edition, significantly expanding the game's content. Bethesda continues to release and promote new Creations such as those mentioned above, helping keep Skyrim active and relevant more than a decade after its original launch.

However, you won't have to travel far under any Skyrim Creation post to see comments begging for information on The Elder Scrolls 6. "Sir it's been 15 years since Skyrim and 8 years since you announced TES: VI. Please for the love of god..." says Eiron.

Maverick echoes the sentiment, saying with just a hint of sarcasm, "Imagine announcing Elder Scrolls 6 seven years after Skyrim came out, and not telling us anything more for another 8 years." Zendigo asks the same thing, "Ok, but can we get info on TES6?" And Ciphex as well: "ES6 is never being released, is it?"

These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fans wanting more information on The Elder Scrolls 6, and while gamers don't necessarily hate the official new Skyrim content being promoted, Creation content is beginning to feel more like a distraction method than something Bethesda actually wants gamers to be excited about.
