A Golden Globe winner has been cast as the new villain on Eddie Redmayne's spy thriller The Day of the Jackal.

Bomer is an award-winning actor who has won at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards for The Normal Heart, People's Choice Awards for Favorite Cable TV Actor, and the Peabody Awards for Fellow Travelers. His role on Fellow Travelers also earned him Emmy and SAG nominations, and he scored an Emmy nomination for The Normal Heart. He was honored with the Impact Award in 2023 by the Human Rights Campaign.
