One of the most accurate gun types in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the Marksman Rifle, whose lethal force at long ranges can get even stronger with builds that support its best traits. Like any weapon, Marksman Rifles have individual strengths and weaknesses. By attaching different parts to a Rifle's loadout, you can either enhance its good qualities or balance out the areas where it's lacking.
Marksman Rifles are very similar to Sniper Rifles in CoD: Black Ops 6, with high recoil and limited ammo in their magazines. With great aim-down-sights, these Rifles are usually mid-range weapons designed to pick off targets from a moderate distance. Above-average damage and decent Handling are offset by lackluster Mobility, which you may want to adjust in builds for this weapon type.
Best SWAT 5.56 Build
Eliminate Enemies In Quick Bursts
The SWAT 5.56 is a Marksman Rifle that fires shots in a quick burst of three bullets, with great Firepower and Accuracy as you would expect from this weapon type. You get this weapon as a default Marksman Rifle in your arsenal when starting the game. As a result, it has some flaws that you may want to correct with these basic Attachments:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Review - Back to Basics
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a worthy inheritor of the series’ success, and while flush with content, there’s not enough innovation to be found.
Muzzle | Compensator |
Barrel | Long Barrel |
Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip |
Magazine | Extended Mag I |
Stock | Heavy Stock |
Every weapon in CoD: Black Ops 6 has multiple Attachment slots you can use to customize an individual firearm. However, you only get five slots for Attachments anywhere on the weapon, so choose which types you use wisely.
With the SWAT 5.56, or any Marksman Rifle that fires three-shot bursts, you'll burn through ammo much faster than you can anticipate. This makes the Extended Mag I Attachment incredibly useful, as it improves your magazine capacity from 30 bullets to 45. With the Long Barrel part, you can extend the gun's range even further, allowing you to use this extra ammo over a longer range than usual.
Other Attachments like the Heavy Stock and Compensator will boost the SWAT 5.56's accuracy, doubling down on its greatest strength. Both of these parts help reduce the recoil of each burst shot, which can be harder to control compared to Marksman Rifles which only fire a single bullet at a time.
Best Tsarkov 7.62 Build
Reduce Recoil On A Faster Rifle
Those looking for a Marksman Rifle with extra Mobility should consider using the Tsarkov 7.62, which they can unlock by reaching Account Level 22. Unlike the SWAT 5.56, this gun only fires a single round when fired, encouraging precision over aggression. This trait means the weapon tends to deal higher damage with each shot you land, killing an enemy with only a couple of well-placed bullets.
This improved damage does come at a cost though. The Tsarkov 7.62 has extremely high recoil compared to other Marksman Rifles, similar in scale to SMG weapons like the Tanto .22 in CoD: Black Ops 6. To offset this glaring weakness, try putting some of these Attachments into the weapon's best build:
Muzzle | Ported Compensator |
Underbarrel | Precision Handguard |
Rear Grip | Quickdraw Grip |
Stock | Balanced Stock |
Fire Mods | Recoil Springs |
The Ported Compensator, Balanced Stock, Recoil Springs, and Precision Handguard all service to improve the Tsarkov 7.62's Handling, giving you less vertical and horizontal recoil. With the Quickdraw Grip, you can aim down your sights faster as well, allowing you to hit targets more accurately as you spot them on the battlefield.
Best AEK-973 Build
Increase Balance For The Best Versatility
Unlocked at Account Level 34, the AEK-973 Marksman Rifle has both a three-round burst and single-shot mode you can switch between at will. This gives the weapon more versatility than other Rifles, allowing you to pick whatever playstyle suits your build best. As a result, you need a good spread of Attachments that can do it all, so try using these parts:
Muzzle | Ported Compensator |
Barrel | Long Barrel |
Optic | Kepler Mircroflex |
Rear Grip | Quickdraw Grip |
Fire Mods | Rapid Fire |
You still want the recoil control offered by the Ported Compensator parts to keep this weapon accurate in whatever mode you choose to use. The Quickdraw Grip increases this weapon's Mobility even further, giving you a way to aim faster, similar to the Tsarkov build. The Rapid Fire Attachment also contributes to this, giving you a faster rate of fire to unleash bullets before your opponents can react.
The AEK-973 has many different build possibilities that all work well due to the gun's multiple firing modes. Those looking for extra Mobility could replace one Attachment in the build above with the Balanced Stock for their Stock part to give the weapon improved agility.
The Optics on this weapon must keep the gun's accuracy intact between both modes, making the Kepler Microflex a good choice for that goal. Among the various Assault Rifles and LMGs in CoD: Black Ops 6, this Marksman Rifle has nearly endless build possibilities, so experiment with different Attachments to see what works best for how you like to use the firearm.
Best DM-10 Build
Never Miss Another Shot
The DM-10 is arguably the best Marksman Rifle in the game, mostly due to its sheer Firepower when compared to other weapons of its type. This gun is extremely accurate as well when you unlock it at Account Level 43 eventually. This combination of traits can be improved to even greater heights when you use Attachments like these in its build:
Muzzle | Ported Compensator |
Barrel | Reinforced Barrel |
Underbarrel | Ranged Handguard |
Optic | Dobrych 4X |
Stock | Balanced Stock |

The most important piece of this build is the Dobrych 4X Optic, which allows you to be more precise with your shots. Since you only need one or two good hits to an enemy's torso to take them out with the D-10, an accurate shot to the head will be enough to one-shot nearly anyone you come across. This Optic also decreases your room for error across longer ranges, rivaling the distance of even some Sniper Rifles.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 6's New Player Progression, Explained
COD Black Ops 6 is taking a new direction in player progression from previous entries, leaving some fans confused over how it really works.
This single-shot Marksman Rifle must be controlled, making the Ported Compensator useful once again to reduce the weapon's recoil. The Ranged Hanguard helps with this too, while the Balanced Stock boosts the gun's movement speed. The speed of every bullet you fire is also enhanced thanks to the Reinforced Barrel equipped on the DM-10 within this build.
The incredible accuracy and damage of the D-10 make it a fearsome weapon. You can improve even more if you have the Gunfighter Wildcard to add extra Attachments to the gun to boost its Handling, Mobility, Accuracy, or damage. The best Marksman Rifle builds in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 reinforce the weapon type's strengths while giving you more ways to make the tools reliable as primary weapons.
