The Bachelor season 28 star Joey Graziadei has been riding high since he got engaged to Kelsey Anderson at the end of his season, but a Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) season 33 loss could ruin his life. Joey proposed to Kelsey during The Bachelor season 28 finale, and they've been happily engaged ever since. They faced financial difficulties in the beginning of their relationship because Joey's credit took a hit when he forgot to make a credit card payment, and he ended up moving into Kelsey's New Orleans home, which they shared with two roommates.

Because of this, skeptics thought that Joey and Kelsey's relationship might not last, but they've defied the odds and gotten back on their feet. They've now moved to Los Angeles while Joey competes in DWTS season 33 with his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson. Ever since night one, Joey and Jenna have consistently been at the top of the leaderboard due to their high scores. This, combined with Joey's hugefan base, has created high expectations that he could be the first male Bachelor Nation star to win DWTS. However, if he doesn't, there are several reasons why his life could be ruined.

1 Joey's 15 Minutes Of Fame Could Be Up

Joey Might Not Get Any More Opportunities

If Joey doesn't win DWTS, it's possible that his fifteen minutes of fame could be up. Since 2023, Joey has been a consistent presence on ABC. Joey got his start as Charity Lawson's runner-up during The Bachelorette season 20. Although he didn't win her heart in the end, fans fell in love with him. He was the obvious choice to become the star of The Bachelor season 28.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Before his season aired, Joey made an appearance on Gerry Turner's Golden Bachelor season as the referee of a pickleball game during a group date. Later, Joey and Kelsey also appeared as contestants on Celebrity Family Feud together. While competing on DWTS season 33, Joey also was in the audience of Joan Vassos' Golden Bachelorette "Men Tell All" episode, sitting with Kelsey's siblings, supporting his future father-in-law, Mark Anderson. Joey sang Mark's praises when asked about his time on the show.

Although Joey seems to be ABC's number one guy, a DWTS season 33 loss could prove to the network that perhaps it's time to move on. Joey's DWTS scores are so high that a loss would mean that his fan base isn't as strong as previously thought because he wouldn't have enough votes. Something similar happened to The Bachelorette season 21 star Jenn Tran when she and her professional dance partner, Sasha Farber, were eliminated from DWTS season 33, despite having higher scores than some contestants who stayed. ABC executives might decide to put their focus on someone other than Joey if he loses DWTS season 33.

2 Joey & Kelsey's Relationship Could Develop Problems

Joey's DWTS Stint Will Have Taken Time Away From Their Relationship For Nothing

DWTS is one of the most time-consuming and grueling reality TV shows. It requires its contestants to give up their lives, which can put a strain on relationships, especially when they're still new. Kelsey has been in the audience of DWTS since the beginning of the season. However, fans noticed that she looked a bit off on Dedication Night, when Joey dedicated his dance to her.

Kelsey explained that she was simply overwhelmed by the DWTS theme, especially because many of the contestants dedicated dances to their moms, and she lost hers in 2018. She was also very emotional about Joey dedicating his dance to her. However, it's also possible that the show is taking a toll on Joey and Kelsey's relationship. If Joey loses DWTS season 33, all of the time that it took away from Kelsey will have been for nothing. If Joey loses Kelsey after a DWTS loss, his life will most certainly be ruined.

3 Joey Won't Have Met His DWTS Expectations

Joey Won't Be The First Male Bachelor Nation DWTS Winner

DWTS has had many Bachelor Nation competitors through the years. They include winners Melissa Rycroft, Hannah Brown, and Kaitlyn Bristowe. In addition, Gabby Windey placed second in her season, while Charity Lawson placed fourth in hers. Other Bachelor Nation DWTS contestants include Trista Sutter, Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, Chris Soules, Nick Viall, Joe Amabile, and Matt James.

The Bachelor: 8 Signs Kelsey Anderson Will Break Up With Joey Graziadei (Is Their Healthy Relationship A Facade?)

Since leaving The Bachelor 28, Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson have been attached at the hip, but there are signs that Kelsey may dump Joey.

Although three Bachelor Nation women have won DWTS, there has never been a male winner from the franchise. After Joey's fantastic premiere on the show, expectations were high that he would be the first. However, if Joey doesn't win, it'll be a huge letdown for his fans. Also, as viewers saw in his Bachelor franchise appearances, Joey is very hard on himself, so he'll surely beat himself up over not winning the DWTS Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. He's struggled with feeling that he's not good enough and trying to be perfect, so a DWTS loss would stay with him for a long time, negatively impacting his life.

4 Joey's Reputation Would Be Ruined

Joey Is Considered A Bachelor Nation Golden Boy

Ever since he was first seen on Charity's Bachelorette season, Joey has been a Bachelor Nation golden boy. In a sea of problematic contestants, some of whom even pride themselves on being villains, Joey is a genuinely good person. He has an incredible ability to listen and he's very sincere. He doesn't have a mean or manipulative bone in his body, which is why he has such a strong reputation.

However, a DWTS loss might ruin Joey's reputation as a golden boy. After having so much success as the Bachelor, especially getting engaged to Kelsey, not winning DWTS would bring him down from the pedestal that fans put him on. In addition, his expectation of himself that he always has to be perfect would put undue pressure on him. A DWTS loss would be a hard fall for Joey.

Joey's Fan Base Might Not Be As Big As Previously Thought

If Joey loses DWTS, it could be a wake-up call that he's not as popular as everyone thinks he is. Although he's one of Bachelor Nation's favorite people, that fan base might not be able to defeat fans of Joey's fellow final six DWTS competitors, including actress Chandler Kinney, NFL player Danny Amendola, NBA player Dwight Howard, and Olympians Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik, who might be known by a bigger audience.

The Bachelor: Signs Joey Graziadei And Kelsey Anderson Will Never Get Married

The Bachelor's 28's Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson got engaged at the end of their season, but the young couple may never get married.

This could ruin Joey's life because he would realize that his popularity is limited to reality TV fans, and doesn't expand beyond that. Without appearing on ABC shows, Joey might not be able to sustain a career in show business, if that's what he wants. However, if he wins DWTS, he'll still be a hot commodity for ABC, and might be given even more opportunities in order to please his fans.

6 Joey Will Face Embarrassment

Joey Is Very Hard On Himself

Joey's biggest critic is Joey himself. During his Bachelor season especially, he often expressed doubt about himself, and struggled with feeling as though he wasn't good enough. During Charity's Bachelorette season, Joey's uncle worried that he wasn't being his true, authentic self with Charity, but instead was being someone she wanted him to be, as he'd done in the past.

It would be embarrassing for Joey to lose DWTS season 33, especially after all of the expectations that have been put on him since the season began. For Joey, a loss might affirm all of the negative thoughts that he's had about himself, which could be disastrous for him. Hopefully, if he doesn't win DWTS, Kelsey and his family will be able to point out how amazingly well he did on the show for someone without any previous dance experience. A DWTS loss would be nothing to be ashamed of, especially after making it this far, but Joey might not see it that way.

7 Joey Will Be Attacked By Online Trolls

People Might Kick Joey While He's Down

The Internet can be a cruel place, and Bachelor Nation fans can be especially harsh. If Joey loses DWTS, it's almost certain that, while his true fans will be supportive, many viewers will have negative things to say about him. Joey has said that he doesn't give attention to online trolls, but it's hard to ignore them when their voices become very loud.

The Bachelor: Signs Joey Graziadei's Ego's Surging Amid DWTS Demand & Possible Kelsey Jealousy

The Bachelor 28's Joey Graziadei is currently dancing up a storm on Dancing With The Stars, and there are signs his success are getting to his ego.

Hopefully, if Joey loses DWTS, people won't kick him while he's down, but it's inevitable that some will attack him online. Joey will have to have a very thick skin in order to continue to ignore his worst critics. This can take a very big toll on someone's mental health. Joey will have to deal with people bashing him, and it's hard not to lash out when this happens. This could ruin Joey's life because he'll either have to suppress his emotions, or run the risk of ruining his nice-guy reputation if he responds to it.

8 Joey Will Have To Face Reality About Getting Married To Kelsey

There Won't Be Any More Excuses

During The Bachelor season 28, Joey had expressed that he wanted a two- to three-year engagement, so it's not surprising that he and Kelsey haven't gotten married yet. However, in an interview with Us Weekly, Joey shared that he and Kelsey put their wedding planning on the backburner while he focuses on competing in DWTS season 33. He explained, "I think really right now our goal is to get through this dancing." Joey also shared that the couple then will have to figure out a new home after the show, stating, "Get settled where we’re gonna be living next."

After Joey and Kelsey get through those two major things, then they can focus on planning their wedding. Joey said, "And then it’s gonna be to figure out a date, figure out location, get everything kind of cleaned up a little bit."If Joey loses DWTS, and his popularity dies down a bit, there won't be any more excuses for not moving forward with the wedding. The pressure will be on for him to face reality about getting married. This could ruin his life if he's not ready. It could even lead to Joey and Kelsey breaking up.

Hopefully, Joey will win DWTS season 33. If he doesn't, there could be disastrous consequences for his personal life and career. However, it's also possible that Joey will appreciate the experience whether he wins or not, and it won't have a negative impact on his life if he loses. Whatever happens next, Joey and Kelsey are wished a lifetime of good health, happiness, and love.

The Bachelor is available to stream on Hulu.
