The Aussie girlfriend effect: How Pia Whitesell helped her husband Patrick have the ultimate glow-up after his split from Jeff Bezos' wife Lauren Sanchez

When Patrick Whitesell quietly unveiled his relationship with Australian model-turned-entrepreneur Pia Whitesell, no one could have predicted the dramatic image overhaul that would follow.

In the wake of his high-profile split from Lauren Sánchez – now famously married to Jeff Bezos – the multimillionaire Hollywood power broker, 61, has emerged looking sharper, fitter and more effortlessly stylish than ever.

Insiders have even credited the so-called 'Aussie girlfriend effect' for his striking glow-up.

But the transformation didn't happen overnight.

Instead, it was a gradual shift that began as Pia, 42, brought her laid-back, health-conscious Australian lifestyle into Patrick's world.

From early morning workouts, clean eating and a more balanced approach to the relentless pace of Hollywood, Patrick has certainly embraced the Down Under way of life - and it shows in his well-muscled physique and glowing skin.

Those close to Patrick say he's not only in the best shape of his life, but is carrying himself with a renewed confidence that has turned heads across Los Angeles' elite circles.

Observers have also pointed to some more subtle physical changes.

Patrick appears noticeably more sun-kissed these days - whether from time spent outdoors or strategic spray tanning - while his face looks fuller and more rested, softening the sharper, slightly drawn appearance he once had.

Then there's his complexion.

In earlier photos, he often had visible redness and pigmentation under his eyes, something that now seems significantly reduced.

As cosmetic doctor Naomi McCullum explains, the shift reflects a broader trend among older men investing in subtle, cumulative treatments rather than dramatic overhauls.

'We're seeing more and more of this 'quiet optimisation' glow-up in men in their 50s and 60s,' she says.

'From the images, his skin tone has changed from pale grey to more bronzed, although I'd remind everyone that tanning is not ideal long-term from a skin health perspective.

'His facial volume, particularly through the midface, appears subtly improved, and his skin quality is better overall, looking smoother and less crepey. This may be the result of regenerative cosmetic treatments.'

In Hollywood circles, that kind of refinement is often attributed to a mix of high-end skincare, laser treatments, or subtle injectable tweaks designed to smooth and even out the skin without drastically altering one's features.

Patrick has even switched up his hair, ditching the salt-and-pepper look he had with Lauren.

When he first got together with Pia, he went for a stark dark brown that only washed him out. Now, he's fully embraced a more flattering dark blond, rounding out his Hollywood makeover.

Of course, a glow-up of this magnitude rarely escapes speculation.

While neither Patrick nor Pia have spoken publicly about any drastic interventions, whispers among well-heeled circles suggest his transformation may go beyond clean living alone.

Peptide therapy - popular among executives and A-listers looking to boost energy, support muscle tone and improve skin quality - has become something of an open secret in Hollywood wellness clinics.

But Dr Naomi is quick to temper expectations around trending treatments.

'Peptides and IV infusions get a lot of hype, but they're unlikely to be doing the heavy lifting here,' she explains.

'The most significant change is his body composition. He appears more muscular, with better posture and confidence, which really changes how healthy and energised he looks.

'This result may be more consistent with testosterone replacement therapy, alongside consistent training and a healthier lifestyle.'

Add to that the rise of tailored hormone optimisation, high-end personal training, infrared saunas and IV vitamin drips, and it's easy to see how a busy power broker could quietly overhaul his appearance and vitality without ever going under the knife.

Patrick is the boss of Hollywood talent and media agency Endeavor, formerly known as WME.

His client list includes the likes of Jude Law, Denzel Washington, Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Jake Gyllenhaal, with whom he shares both professional and personal ties.

He and Lauren were married for 14 years and welcomed two children together - son Evan, 19, and daughter Ella, 17 - before their 2019 divorce.

Soon after, Patrick would go on to meet Pia, proposing to her in 2020 with a giant diamond ring.

The couple tied the knot in May 2021.

Pia has sons Isaiah, 22, and Lennox, 19, from two previous relationships.

'For me, it's honestly the best, most heartwarming thing to see the blending of four teenagers who were strangers just a few years ago,' she told Marie Claire Australia.

'We sit around the table every night, enjoying each other's company, having a laugh as we share our stories. We spent Thanksgiving together; how lucky are we to have all found each other?'

Pia also admitted she leans on her family during times of hardship, such as when they lost a house during last year's California wildfires.
