Right on cue, the Amazon Big Smile Sale has delivered a decent AU$50 discount on the Apple AirPods Pro 3 in-ear headphones, making this week an opportune time to grab a pair for yourself if you’ve been eyeing them up.
I did see the latest generation of Apple’s ubiquitous earbuds receiving the same discount during the Boxing Day sales at the tail end of 2025, so it’s good to see Amazon has reinstated it during its first major sale of this year.
I’ve been using the Pro 3 since they launched in September and, while I was initially unsure of their benefits over the Pro 2, I have to concede that the updated model really is something special. I really have tried to find fault with them, but have yet to come across anything — they’re simply fantastic.

My audio-loving colleague, Becky Scarrott, surmised that “iPhone owners who value great, shut-out-the-world noise cancellation need look no further than this set of earbuds”. Furthermore, on the subject of ANC, she adds, “it's almost scarily good at sucking the noise out of your ears”.
I have to agree with the latter statement in particular, because as soon as you put the Pro 3s into your ears and enable noise cancellation, you’re immediately transported to a cocoon of silence. I’ve worn them when walking down busy roads and even when vacuuming my home, and in every instance, I can’t hear a thing, other than the music in my ears — they really are some of the best wireless earbuds money can buy.
Now, I’m all too aware that everyone’s ears are different, and a pair of earbuds that could be comfortable for one person might not be for someone else. I’m confident in saying that nobody will have an issue with the fit of the AirPods Pro 3, as Apple has redesigned the shape of them.
They insert into your ears at a slightly different angle compared to the Pro 2, which makes them feel more secure and more comfortable as a result. I don’t expect this discount to last beyond the end of the Amazon Big Smile Sale — which is this coming Sunday, March 22 — so if you want to grab them at this knock-down price, now’s your chance.
