Best Prime Video Movies November 2024

Amazon Prime Video adds dozens of new movies every month, and November 2024 continues to deliver plenty of fresh feature-length content for subscribers, ensuring that Amazon's streaming platform has one of the best movie libraries of any available service. Whereas many streaming services are ramping up for the holiday season in December, Amazon Prime Video is mostly adding a significant roster of hit movies (as well as some early seasonal content, such as Jeff Dunham's Scrooged-Up Holiday Special on the 19th).

Amazon Prime Video offers something for everyone, so no matter what mood someone is in or their tastes in film, they're bound to find something to dive into on the streamer. The platform is still home to some hit original films, such as the 2024 Roadhouse reboot. However, November 2024 is notable for the blockbuster content arriving on the platform, including the likes of Gladiator and Dune, and classics like the 1960 Western The Magnificent Seven.

  • Snack Shack(2024) [Teen Comedy] - The 2024 coming-of-age movie Snack Shack has been praised for its fresh spin on a story about entering adulthood. Directed and written by Adam Carter Rehmeier, Snack Shack stars Conor Sherry, Gabriel LaBelle, and Mika Abdalla as three teens working at a local community pool over the course of the summer of 1991.
  • Dune(2021) [Epic Sci-Fi] - Denis Vilenneuve's Dune trilogy is redefining epic science-fiction movies, with Dune: Part Two being one of the year's greatest cinematic successes. The first chapter, 2021's Dune, is just as good, with a scale few other movies on Amazon Prime Video can match.
  • Gladiator(2000) [Historic Epic] - Ridley Scott's historic epic Gladiator is returning to Amazon Prime Video in November. One of the most celebrated movies of all time, the answer from subscribers when Russell Crowe's Maximus asks "are you not entertained" is all but assured to be a resounding "yes".
  • The Lego Movie(2014) [Animated Comedy] - There are many timeless family movies on Amazon Prime Video, though few as unique as 2014's The Lego Movie, which brings the popular construction toy to life in a hilariously unforgettable way.
  • Abigail (2024)(2024) [Horror Comedy] - Alongside the many classic movies on Amazon Prime Video are some hit releases from 2024, among them the horror-comedy Abigail, which arrives on November 19th. The film is a unique twist on the vampire genre, and a reminder that the bloodsucking undead are never more terrifying than when they take the form of a ballet-obsessed child.
  • The Magnificent Seven (1960)(1960) [Western] - The Western genre has been making a comeback, but the 1960 classic The Magnificent Seven remains unrivaled. Not only does it hold up just as well in 2024 as it did when it released, it also features a career-best performance from Hollywood legend Steve McQueen.
  • Saltburn(2023) [Dark Comedy] - Starring Barry Keoghan, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, and Carrey Mulligan among others in its ensemble cast, Saltburn is a twisted tale of excess, deception, and obsession. Thanks to a riveting script and stellar performances from every cast member, it's a guarantee that Saltburn is a movie that won't be forgotten for all the right reasons.
  • Borat Subsequent Moviefilm(2020) [Comedy] - Few comedy characters are as controversial as Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat, and the 2020 sequel Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm brought the incredibly edgy hilarity to the modern era. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm only gets funnier with time as the lockdowns and other unique facets of 2020 become more retrospective.
  • The Silence of the Lambs(1991) [Crime Thriller] -The Silence of the Lambs features on almost every list of "best films ever made" that's been compiled since it was released in 1991. The Silence of the Lambs has been referenced in dozens of movies and TV shows, and by 2024 there are few who aren't aware of its status as a highly acclaimed piece of cinema or its influence on pop culture.
  • Memento(2000) [Crime Thriller] - Memento may not be the most blockbuster Christopher Nolan movie out there, but many still consider the cult gem to be among his best work. The story focuses on Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a man who has acute short-term memory loss. Shelby is attempting to figure out who killed his wife by following clues he tattoos on his body, forgetting the reason behind each and having to trust in his past self.
  • Challengers(2024) [Sports Drama] - Luca Guadagino's 2024 sports drama Challengers isn't only one of the best movies in the genre on Amazon Prime Video, but it's also undeniably one of the steamiest. Starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor, and Mike Faist, Challengers is the story of a love triangle formed in the hyper-competitive world of professional tennis players.
  • Oppenheimer(2023) [Biopic Drama] - Oppenheimer, from director Christopher Nolan, was one of the most significant cinematic releases of 2023. The biopic, which retells the construction of the atomic bomb by physicist Robert Oppenheimer and his team, was nominated for a staggering 551 awards, of which it won 321.
  • Air(2023) [Biopic Drama] - While Ben Affleck's acting career has been famously up and down, he's had impressive success behind the camera, and Air is the fifth film he's directed. Starring frequent Affleck collaborator Matt Damon as Nike shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro, Air is the origin story of Nike and Michael Jordan's iconic shoe, the Air Jordan.
  • Sound of Metal(2019) [Music Drama] - Sound of Metal was nominated for an impressive six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and deservedly won for Best Sound and Best Editing. The story focuses on Ruben (Riz Ahmed), a drummer who begins to lose his hearing. As Ruben grapples with the fact that he is going deaf, he must decide whether to get cochlear implants or remain with his community of people with deafness recovering from addiction.
  • Bones and All(2022) [Horror Romance] - Horror and romance don't often go hand-in-hand without terrifying results, yet - somehow - 2022's Bones and All manages to keep the needle firmly on the romance side of the arrangement while also containing plenty of moments of cannibalism. Starring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell, Bones and All is a love story about a pair of young cannibals taking a road trip across the US in the 1980s.
  • I Want You Back(2022) [Romantic Comedy] - Starring It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Charlie Day and SNL's Jenny Slate, the 2022 Amazon Prime Original rom-com I Want You Back is a classic "getting back the ex" storyline with a twist.
  • Red, White & Royal Blue(2023) [Romantic Comedy] - Red, White & Royal Blue centers Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez) and Prince Henry of Britain (Nicholas Galitzine), who embark on a passionate romance despite their initial disdain for each other. The chemistry between the lead couple is make-or-break for rom-coms, and Zakhar Perez's and Galitzine's is scorching.
  • Shotgun Wedding(2022) [Romantic Comedy] - Action and romance go surprisingly well together, as proverd by 2022's Shotgun Wedding. Starring Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel as newlyweds whose ceremony is literally hijacked by modern pirates, Shotgun Wedding's title is incredibly literal in several scenes.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem(2023) [Animated Action] - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem reinvents the ever-popular TMNT franchise with a fresh art style and hip-hop-infused feel for the beloved heroes in a half-shell. It stands as one of the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies released so far, and appeals to both fans of the franchise and those simply looking for an easy-to-watch sci-fi movie that's suitable for the whole family.
  • Transformers: Rise of the Beasts(2023) [Action Sci-Fi] - The Transformers franchise is synonymous with big-budget, easy-watching blockbuster action that meshes sci-fi and fantasy in an easily digestible package, and 2023's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is no exception.
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves(2023) [Fantasy Adventure] - Honor Among Thieves is what feels like an increasingly rare fantasy that isn't incredibly serious, violent, and dark, but is instead lighthearted, good-natured, and spellbinding throughout. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' cast are clearly having a great time, and that spreads to the viewer.
  • Terrifier 2(2022) [Slasher Horror] - A love-letter to the bloody and violent horror films of the 1970s and 1980s, Terrifier 2 picks up where 2016's Terrifier left off. However, with a much larger budget and healthy amount of plot-development thrown in, Terrifier 2 surpassed its predecessor and turned Art the Clown into the face of a franchise.
  • Donnie Darko(2001) [Horror Drama] - Donnie Darko is equally a critique of the manufactured perfection chased by suburbanites as it is a chilling examination of the effects of time-travel. However, it's also a coming-of-age story at the same time, a commentary on the lack of understanding surrounding mental health, and, of course, a horror story about an adolescent boy who's stalked by a man in a creepy bunny mask who only he can see.
  • Eden Lake(2008) [Dark Horror] - Violent, tense, and unrelenting throughout, the relatively straightforward premise of Eden Lake betrays just how tense a watch it actually is, one that few horror movies on Amazon Prime Video can match in terms of how difficult they are to get through.
  • Five Nights at Freddy's(2023) [Supernatural Horror] - 2023's Five Nights At Freddy's proved both that video game adaptions can work as films, and that PG-13 horror movies still have a market. Josh Hutcherson stars alongside Matthew Lillard to bring the tale of Freddy Fazbear's restaraunt to life - however, when it comes to the FNAF movie, it's the possessed animatronic killers who steal the show.
  • The Exorcist: Believer(2023) [Supernatural Horror] - Few horror movies have gained as much notoriety as 1973's The Exorcist, and in 2023, David Gordon Green — the director behind the Halloween reboot trilogy — helmed the terrifying direct sequel The Exorcist: Believer. The Exorcist: Believer stands out among modern supernatural horror movies, thanks both to some incredible special effects, David Gordon Green's directoral flare, and the performances of young actresses Lidya Jewett and Olivia O'Neill as Angela and Katherine.
  • The Beekeeper(2024) [Action Thriller] - The plot of The Beekeeper has a lot in common with some elements of John Wick. Jason Statham's Adam Clay lives a quiet life as a beekeeper, renting out a ban from retired school teacher Eloise Parker. When Eloise takes her own life after being scammed out of her life savings, Clay goes on a revenge rampage by tapping into skills he acquired in a former, much more violent life.
  • Guy Ritchie's The Covenant(2023) [Action Thriller] - Director Guy Ritchie might be known most for his slick British gangster movies like Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, but in 2023 he teamed up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Iraqi-born Danish actor Dar Salim to deliver one of the most cerebral and nailbiting war movies of the decade so far — Guy Ritchie's The Covenant.
  • Road House (2024)(2024) [Action Drama] - 2024's Road House is a direct-to-streaming remake of the 1989 cult classic starring Patrick Swayze of the same name. The new version of Road House stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, a cage fighter formerly with the UFC who now earns his keep as a bouncer at the roughest club in Florida Keys, The Road House.
  • Sicario(2015) [Action Thriller] - The talent behind Sicario couldn't be more prestigious, with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan writing the script and Dune's Denis Villeneuve directing. Sicario's cast is also stacked with some of today's greatest working Hollywood actors, led by Emily Blunt as FBI Special Agent Kate Mercer.
