Ahsoka Tano is one of the most beloved characters in the entire Star Wars franchise, but some episodes focused on Ahsoka are better than others. The Togruta Jedi was initially introduced in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie, where it was revealed she was Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan. Throughout The Clone Wars' seven seasons, Ahsoka became the show’s heart and one of the most intriguing characters, as Ahsoka’s fate following Order 66 was still a mystery.

When the character debuted in 2008, there were a lot of fans who didn’t like her. Some cited that the character was a bit annoying, while others were just displeased at the fact that Anakin Skywalker had a Padawan. While Ahsoka did not deserve that hate, that didn’t stop her from becoming central to so many stories in Star Wars. To date, Ahsoka Tano has appeared in six Star Wars projects that span between animation and live-action. Ahsoka’s story continued when she was given her own live-action show, Ahsoka, which premiered in 2023. Here are her best episodes.

10 Ahsoka Sees the Toll War Takes On Regular People On Onderon

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5, Episode 5 “Tipping Points”

In this four-episode arc, audiences are re-introduced to Lux Bonteri, the son of the Separatist senator from the planet Onderon. Lux was the first Separatist Ahsoka ever met, and the two had formed a bond with one another, especially after Senator Bonteri was assassinated by Count Dooku’s operatives. “Tipping Points” shows the conclusion of this arc, with Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Captain Rex, and Ahsoka seemingly training the rebels on Onderon well enough to retake their planet.

Throughout the arc, it was clear that Lux Bonteri had developed romantic feelings for Steela Gerrera, another one of the freedom fighters. However, after an explosion, Ahsoka tries to save Lux and Steela, ultimately having to choose between the two. It’s an impossible situation and audiences can see the guilt Ahsoka carries for not being able to save Saw Gerrera’s sister. While this arc features a lot of characters, it is Ahsoka-centric and shows what the price of war is even to the strongest of people.

9 Ahsoka Confronts Her Past For the First Time

Star Wars Rebels Season 2, Episode 18 “Shroud of Darkness”

Ahsoka Tano’s appearances in Star Wars Rebels helped connect the story to the larger Star Wars galaxy, and those bonds she formed continue to be major plot points in stories like Ahsoka. The Rebels season 2 episode “Shroud of Darkness” sees Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, and Ahsoka Tano enter the Jedi Temple on Lothal, where they all have different Force-related interactions. Ezra connects with Master Yoda and discusses his desire to stop the Sith and the Imperial Inquisitors.

Meanwhile, Kanan comes face-to-face with the Grand Inquisitor, who is revealed to have been a Jedi Temple Guard. The Grand Inquisitor even officially knights Kanan as a member of the Jedi. Ahsoka has a vision of her former master, asking her why she left and forcing her to confront her role in Anakin’s fall to the dark side and his becoming Darth Vader. Ahsoka had been putting off confronting the fact that Anakin was still alive, but this interaction in the Jedi Temple solidified the fact that she had to face the masked Sith Lord.

8 Ahsoka Shows Her Leadership Skills & Bravery While Facing Thrawn

Ahsoka Season 1, Episode 8 “Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord”

The Ahsoka season 1 finale was so good because it not only wrapped up a lot of the stories from the season, but also teased what was next for these characters. Audiences saw Ahsoka take on Morgan Elsbeth in the Nightsister Fortress on Peridea. This duel was one for the ages, and while the two had fought before, this one was multifaceted with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Night Troopers causing more headaches for the heroes.

Ahsoka’s selflessness in making sure Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger keep pushing to catch Thrawn’s ship was on full display, and that was why Ezra was able to return to the main Star Wars galaxy after nearly ten years. After failing to catch Thrawn’s ship, Ahsoka took her loss with grace, and audiences got the feeling that she and Sabine hadn’t actually lost, and it was just part of their journey. There are a lot of questions about where Ahsoka season 2 will take the titular character and her Padawan, but this finale left audiences wanting more.

Ahsoka season 2 is currently in development.

7 Ahsoka Chooses To Leave The Jedi

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5, Episode 20 “The Wrong Jedi”

Ever since Ahsoka Tano was introduced in The Clone Wars movie, fans wondered what happened to Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan and whether she had been killed in Order 66. However, it was revealed in The Clone Wars season 5 finale that Ahsoka chose to leave the Jedi Order. After being falsely accused of bombing the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Ahsoka lost faith in what the Jedi stood for.

Ahsoka's decision to leave the Jedi weighed hard on her and her former Master, and it was one of the factors that led to Anakin’s eventual fall to the dark side.

Ahsoka's decision to leave the Jedi weighed hard on her and her former master, and it was one of the factors that led to Anakin’s eventual fall to the dark side. “The Wrong Jedi” is one of the most emotional episodes, and this is compounded when remembering that The Clone Wars didn’t return to air for another year after leaving Cartoon Network. Audiences didn’t learn how Ahsoka survived Order 66 until 2020, when The Clone Wars season 7 came out.

6 Anakin’s Training Taught Ahsoka To Survive

Tales of the Jedi Episode 5 “Practice Makes Perfect”

Tales of the Jedi was special because it allowed the storytellers to dive into specific moments in a character’s journey. With Ahsoka Tano being one of the main subjects of Tales of the Jedi, it gave crucial context for how Ahsoka survived Order 66. “Practice Makes Perfect” shows how Anakin Skywalker felt that many of the Jedi’s training techniques wouldn’t provide Ahsoka with the training needed to survive in war.

Anakin has Ahsoka train with the clones, as they aren’t predictable like droids, and he insists that this is the difference between life and death. While audiences who had seen Ahsoka fight off the clones after Order 66 declaration knew that that was where she developed these skills, it’s interesting to see how much Anakin believes in her, even if it’s through tough love. The final scene of Ahsoka and Captain Rex just before confronting the clones of the 332nd is wonderful and drives the connection between the two of them home.

5 Ahsoka Faces Off Against Maul On Mandalore

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 10 “The Phantom Apprentice”

Ahsoka Tano is one of the few people to defeat Darth Maul in single combat, and her skills with her lightsabers were on full display in The Clone Wars episode “The Phantom Apprentice.” The episode is action-packed, and Maul even reveals that he was hoping Anakin would’ve been the one to lead the Siege of Mandalore, as Maul knew he was the key to Palpatine’s plan. Despite this, he’s ready to take on Ahsoka in one of The Clone Wars’ best lightsaber duels.

The duel between Maul and Ahsoka is made even better because the original actor to portray Maul, Ray Park, returned to provide the motion capture the animators used to develop the animation. This gave the duel a more realistic feel, as the movements were created using real people and weren’t generated solely from animation. All of this paired with Ahsoka’s hesitation about joining Maul to take down the still-mysterious Darth Sidious shows Ahsoka had truly grown from the fresh-faced Padawan audiences had met so long ago.

4 Ahsoka Tano Survives Order 66

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 11 “Shattered”

After 12 years of waiting to learn how Ahsoka Tano survived Order 66, audiences got their answer in The Clone Wars’ penultimate episode, “Shattered.” While traveling to Coruscant with a captured Maul, Order 66 is declared and the clones of the 332nd company unwillingly turned on Ahsoka. These were the same clones who only a few episodes earlier had repainted their helmets to honor the former Jedi.

Not only is “Shattered” action-packed, with Ahsoka fleeing the initial assault from the clones, but it’s filled with emotional moments. Ahsoka desperately tries to remove the inhibitor chip from Captain Rex’s head after he had tried to restrain himself from killing her long enough to warn her. While Ahsoka is ultimately successful, it forces Rex to kill some of his brothers to save Ahsoka’s life. Seeing Rex having no choice but to kill those closest to him is heartbreaking.

3 The Clone Wars Series Finale Is One Of The Best Star Wars Episodes

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 12 “Victory and Death”

Not only is “Victory and Death” one of the best Ahsoka Tano-centric episodes in all of Star Wars, but it’s also one of the best episodes in the entire franchise. The action is non-stop, with Ahsoka and Captain Rex trying to get off their ship and escape the clones who had been ordered to kill them after the declaration of Order 66. Ahsoka’s assertion that she refused to kill any of the clones despite them wanting to kill her was incredibly heartbreaking.

The chilling final moments which reveal that Ahsoka and Rex buried the dead clone troopers is ominous, but a fantastic way to end The Clone Wars .

Ahsoka's companionship with Rex, especially when he is crying about his brothers willingly dying, is one of the most emotional moments in the Star Wars franchise. The chilling final moments which reveal that Ahsoka and Rex buried the dead clone troopers is ominous, but a fantastic way to end The Clone Wars. It was shown in the Ahsoka novel that Ahsoka left her lightsabers behind to help fake her death, which is why the final shot of The Clone Wars features Darth Vader finding and igniting one of Ahsoka’s lightsabers.

2 Ahsoka Takes A Stand Against Darth Vader

Widely regarded as one of the best episodes in Rebels and in the entire franchise, “Twilight of the Apprentice Part 2” is the epic reunion between master and apprentice. After reluctantly teaming up with Maul while on the Sith planet Malachor, Ahsoka, Maul, Kanan Jarrus, and Ezra Bridger all attempt to make their way to the top of the Sith temple. The episode is full of amazing action, including a duel between a newly blinded Kanan and Maul, in which Kanan outsmarts the former Sith.
