Terri Irwin reveals major difference between son Robert and his dad Steve Irwin: 'He never did that'

Terri Irwin has revealed the major difference between her late husband, 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, and their son Robert.

'I will say that the thing that Robert's got that Steve didn't: Steve never took his shirt off for wildlife,' she joked with Robert at the Las Vegas Steve Irwin Gala this month, according to Yahoo Lifestyle Australia.

Robert cheekily replied, 'Whatever gets the job done.'

Terri, 61, appeared to be referring to Robert's notorious 'thirst trap' underwear campaign.

The TV host almost broke the internet in April last year after posing in a series of steamy snaps promoting Aussie underwear brand Bonds in the US.

Robert has continued to flaunt his buff physique since, including appearing in a shirtless salsa routine seen on Dancing with the Stars US last September.

Elsewhere at the charity event, which raises money for wildlife conservation, Terri paid tribute to Steve and their life together at Australia Zoo.

'It was a lot of work, it was a lot of grief. There were times of great joy,' she said.

'And to be able to have shared that with him was incredibly special - and carry it on,' Terri added.

While building a high profile as a mainstream TV presenter in Australia as co-host of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here', Robert continues to be involved with the Irwin family's Australia Zoo.

Terri and Steve's daughter, Bindi Irwin, 27, and her husband, Chandler Powell, 29, live with their five-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior, at the sanctuary, where the couple are heavily involved with the operations.

Steve Irwin's family continued his life's work after the celebrity conservationist died after being struck in the chest by a stingray while filming underwater in 2006.

It comes after Robert Irwin's Dancing with the Stars spin-off wrapped filming in Brisbane last month.

And insiders now say that Terri was a surprising 'no show' while the reality dance competition was still in production.

Terri built a reputation as a 'helicopter mum' after staying close to Robert behind the scenes as her beloved son filmed the last two seasons as co-host of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.

The high-profile conservationist was also seen dutifully cheering her boy on to victory as he filmed Dancing with the Stars US last year, which Robert won with Witney Carson.

Still, exclusive sources have told the Daily Mail that production personnel 'heard nothing' about Terri stopping by the set of Robert's new show, Dancing with the Stars - The Next Pro.

And even though some of the series was filmed at the Irwin family's Australia Zoo, it is understood that Terri did not feature in any scenes shot there.

Another source, who was unfamiliar with the footage filmed, added that the show will remain in post-production for several weeks.

'There is a chance that Terri might have filmed a cameo [secretly], but that is unlikely,' they said.

Terri's absence has 'definitely been noticed', one source close to the production told Daily Mail last month.

'Terri hasn't been around during filming at all,' the insider added. 'It's quite a change from what people are used to.'

The Disney/ BBC production features hopefuls trying out for a role on Dancing with the Stars.

All the cast members are based in America and are competing for a spot as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars US.
