The t.me domain used by Telegram has entered serverHold status at the .me registry, removing it from DNS resolution globally and causing every t.me link to stop working.

Unlike hosting or registrar issues, a serverHold is a registry-level suspension that prevents a domain from being published in DNS, so it will not resolve anywhere on the internet.
Telegram’s messaging platform itself remains unaffected, but every t.me link for users, groups, and channels is currently inaccessible. The continued availability of telegram.me suggests the disruption is limited to the t.me registration.
The .me registry is operated by Montenegro-based doMEn with partners including Identity Digital and GoDaddy, and t.me remains an active registration with an expiration date in 2035.
A serverHold can be triggered for a variety of reasons, including legal disputes, regulatory compliance, registry policy enforcement, or technical issues. The domain suspension comes amid Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s ongoing legal case in France, though no connection between the events has been established.
No public explanation has yet been provided the .me registry or its backend operator, Identity Digital, regarding the registry-level action.
