While on the Grammys 2026 red carpet Feb. 1, singer Teddy Swims shared which of his celeb pals he’d let babysit his and Raiche Wright’s 8-month-old son.

Teddy Swims Reveals Which Celebrity He Trusts to Babysit His, Raiche Wright’s Son
Teddy Swims has childcare under control.
Though he and girlfriend Raiche Wright can call pals Kelly Clarkson and Thomas Rhett to babysit their 8-month-old son, he’s got someone in particular on speed dial.
“I would probably say Meghan Trainor,” Teddy told Keltie Knight during the Live from E!: Grammys red carpet Feb. 1. “Oh my goodness, that is the best mother in the world right there. Meghan Trainor has just got it, man.”
Because, as Teddy put it, the “All About That Bass” singer and husband Daryl Sabara—who share three kids—are “just wonderful people.”
But that’s no disrespect to his other friends.
“Thomas has already got his hands full,” Teddy said of the dad of four. “He’s got nothing but little girls. I don’t even know if he’s ready for my little boy. He’s a girl dad.”
And while Teddy had to enlist a babysitter for his night at the Grammys, he also needed to call in support for his Jan. 30 performance honoring Mariah Carey as MusiCares Person of the Year. It's a milestone he called “the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done to this day.”
“I just put my sunglasses down and kept my eyes closed,” the 33-year-old said of his “Without You” cover performance. “She’s so close to looking at you while you’re butchering her song.”
Indeed, considering Mariah’s honor, career and talent, Teddy emphasized she is “obviously the greatest singer of all time.”
“It was horrifying,” he continued. “She kind of stood up and listened and it seemed like she enjoyed it so I think she was proud but like I said, I kept my eyes closed the whole time. I wish she would’ve just turned around and not even looked at me while I sang that song.”

Mariah, for her part, was just as shocked to be receiving the honor itself—and surrounded by talent like Teddy—ahead of music’s biggest night.
“Standing here tonight surrounded by so many friendly and familiar faces—people I’ve worked with, people I’ve long admired, and even people I thought I’d never see again,” the 56-year-old said in a speech, “it’s overwhelming in the best possible way. It really is unbelievable.”
