Olympics 2026: Meet the Team USA Athletes Going for Gold in the Milan Cortina Winter Games

On Taylor Swift's Wi$h Li$t is taking a moment to cheer on Team USA's Olympic athletes.

The singer surprised Team USA ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics with an unexpected video message sending them well wishes before the Games officially kick off in Milan and Cortina.

"Hi, it’s Taylor," the 36-year-old said in the Feb. 6 clip shared by the NBC Olympics social media account. "I just wanted to send a message to all the athletes that are competing in the Olympics. I just wanted to say thank you."

The “Opalite” singer continued, "Getting to learn your stories and see everything that you’ve sacrificed and all your determination and hard work and passion and everything to that’s gotten you to this point where you’re so excellent at something, it’s just really inspiring, and I am very grateful for everything you’ve done to get to this point in your life and grateful that you’ve brought us all along with you on this journey so we get to watch you do this."

Taylor, who was wearing a sweatshirt from Polo Ralph Lauren's official Team USA collection for this year's Olympics, ended her address by wishing all of the athletes luck.

"I just hope that you a wonderful Olympic Games," she said. "Wishing you all the best of luck and a safe journey, and I hope this is an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Bye!"

Taylor's message came the same day she released the music video for her latest single "Opalite" off of her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl, which costarred Domhnall GleesonJodie-Turner SmithGreta LeeLewis CapaldiCillian Murphy and Graham Norton, all of whom she appeared alongside on The Graham Norton Show back in October.

In fact, it was a comment that Domhnall made about wanting to be in one of her music videos that gave her the idea for her latest visual.

"I remember thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with,” Taylor wrote in a message shared to social media Feb. 6. "All people whose work I’ve admired from afar. When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking!”

“Except,” she continued, "that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an *idea*.”

Taylor continued to explain where her mind went in that moment.

"I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too,” she shared. "Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory. To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90’s with us and help with this video.”

"I had more fun than I ever imagined,” she added. "Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters."
