Amazon MGM Studios in development on Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, a scripted series starring and executive produced by Twilight alum Lautner, sources confirmed to Deadline.

The series is created by Daisy Gardner (Single Drunk Female), who also serves as showrunner.

Per the official logline: “After wrapping the final Twilight film, Taylor Lautner vanished from the spotlight. Fans speculated, tabloids theorized—but the truth is wilder than fiction. Taylor wasn’t just taking a mental health break. He was preparing for his real calling…Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter. Playing himself, Taylor is drawn into a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise. As he navigates his double life—Hollywood actor by day, supernatural warrior by night—Taylor must wrestle with the ultimate irony: fighting the very creatures that made him famous. Between saving the world, reviving his career, and falling in love, he faces the ultimate question—what happens when your biggest role becomes your greatest enemy?”

Adam Londy executive produces for Tornante along with Tarik Kanafani. Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett executive produce for Radio Silence. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Lautner is known for his role as Jacob Black, a member of the Quileute tribe who can shapeshift into a wolf, and competes with Edward Cullen as a love interest for Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). He starred in the Twilight film franchise from its debut in 2008 through the final installment in 2012.

Variety was first to report the project.
