Taylor Frankie Paul SHOCKS as she seemingly leaves Mormon church after Bachelorette cancellation amid domestic violence scandal

Taylor Frankie Paul says she's detaching herself from the Mormon church in the wake of the messy domestic violence scandal that led her season of The Bachelorette to be canceled just prior to its premiere.

Paul, 31, said in an Instagram Stories post on Easter Sunday that she was 'born and raised Mormon (LDS)' and she'll 'always have love and respect toward it' but 'with that being said, it's time to detach myself from it.'

The Pueblo, Colorado-born reality star said she would continue to attend religious events with her family at times, but is making some personal changes based on her beliefs and life experiences.

'I strongly believe in Christ, God, the Bible, the divine,' she said. 'I believe we are loved whether we are praying in the church building or from a bathroom floor at home.'

She continued, 'I've also experienced grace and love from amazing people that aren't sure what they believe if at all and that's OK too. Point being there is more out there to learn and I'm writing this out as a release.'

Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Paul for further comment on the story.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives alum opened up in an Instagram post earlier Sunday about how she's been leaning on her religion amid the difficult time.

'The last 40 days felt like hell on earth,' Paul said. 'Through every panic attack I prayed for strength as I could feel my body breaking down and out from the distress of it all.'

She alluded to the Christian Jesus in  saying she was spiritually encouraged to persevere through the tumult.

'And HE sent just that in various ways along with so many undeniable signs saying "I am with you" which I can’t wait to share that part,' Paul said.

Paul said she's made her best effort to remain full of faith and gratitude since she was a child.

'I’ve prayed since I was young and never strayed away because I believe he wants us to ask for help especially during our lowest points,' Paul said. 'However, instead of just asking I switched over to thanking him at the end of each day no matter how low I felt.'

She noted that Sunday marked 40 days since the scandal launched her into a 'frantic state,' adding 'He is risen and he is real.'

Paul was seen attacking her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, 33, with her minor daughter present in an article TMZ posted March 19. The jarring clip led ABC to abruptly cancel Paul's season on the verge of its premiere, though she was paid in full

Disney Entertainment Television said at the time, 'In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.'

Paul is mother to three children: daughter Indy, eight, and son Ocean, five, with ex-husband Tate Paul; and son Ever, two, with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

Paul is slated to attend a court hearing Tuesday focused on her custodial rights to son Ever after Mortensen received a temporary protective order late last month amid a February in which he said she choked him, TMZ reported, citing court docs.

Paul has denied all of the allegations.

In related news, body camera footage pulled from Paul's 2023 arrest showed  Mortensen trying to persuade police to take him to jail instead of her.

In the clip, which was published March 23 by TMZ, Paul and Mortensen were bickering as police knocked on the front door.

Police separated the two as an aggressive Paul tried to pour herself a water and began crying.

Mortensen told responding officers that Paul was 'not doing OK' while giving them a glimpse into the violence he alleged he suffered at her hands.

'I can't even tell you the stuff that's happened to me,' Mortensen said, showing off injuries he claimed came from Paul.

At that point, Paul re-emerged, and told Mortensen to leave immediately.

After Paul was arrested, Mortensen asked police officers if he could go to jail instead of her, saying that he just wanted her 'to get help.'

Paul in August of 2023 entered a plea of guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the February 2023 incident. Four other charges were dropped as part of the deal, and probation she's been on since then is slated to conclude in August of 2026.
