Tana Ramsay reveals the £4 beauty buy she swears by since discovering she has melasma - and the other skincare heroes behind her youthful complexion

As Gordon Ramsay celebrated his wife Tana's 52nd birthday on Tuesday, fans were left in awe at the mother-of-six's age-defying looks.

The author has an impressive fitness routine that she took up to be able to 'have energy at 80', running everything from marathons to Ironmans.

But despite being a cookery writer, there is no strict diet in place – and when it comes to skincare, she 'rarely changes' products, sticking to beloved staples.

Tana is vigilant about topping up the SPF these days, so to get a golden glow, she enjoys gradual tan creams which you can buy from the High Street – such as Dove's Visible Glow Lotion, available for as little as £4.25 on Amazon.

In an interview with The Times, Tana said of the product: 'Especially as you get older, the skin on your legs isn't quite what it used to be, and this just adds a subtle, flattering tint.'

After discovering she has melasma, a common skin condition that is identified as dark, brown or patchy spots on the skin caused by too much pigment in the skin, the author has vowed to cut down on her sun exposure.

She added: 'Gordon and I used to bake. Now I have melasma.

'I'll never forget going into a pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asking what the stains on my face were.'

Tana never leaves the house without her Klira The Dayscript cream, retailing for £66.

She also loves the Sarah Chapman Sheet Masks, which her daughter Tilly introduced her to.

They are available on Amazon and come in a pack of four, retailing for £48.

When it comes to make-up, it will be no surprise that she is a fan of her pal Victoria Beckham's beauty products.

She uses the foundation drops with TFC8, costing £104.

Tana is also a big fan of anything Charlotte Tilbury; the make-up brand was used on her ahead of Holly's wedding to Adam Peaty.

As for haircare, she uses the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask after it was recommended by her hairdresser.

The product, which retails for £30, is ideal for treating damaged hair.
