Tamzin Outhwaite gushed she feels 'so confident' as she revealed the amazing results of her £4,950 non-surgical facelift treatment on Tuesday.

The British actress, 55, looked sensational as she shared before and after pictures from having eight NeoGen nitrogen plasma facials over a year.

The EastEnders star visited Dr Maryam McMillan at the Ambra Clinic in Finchley after seeing the incredible results Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas had from the procedure.

Speaking candidly about her journey, Tamzin shared the results while staying true to her conviction to avoid cosmetic surgery.

She said: 'When I looked in the mirror and I just could see that my face just never looked as good as it used to. At my age I know it's hard to avoid this but I'd really started to notice the difference and it was getting me down a bit.

'I'd also lost some weight and my face looked like it was sagging and dropping, so I decided to do some research on what could be done to improve things.'

Tamzin insisted it is important that she avoids injectables and surgery as she must have an expressive face to continue being a successful actress.

She continued: 'I definitely didn't want to go under the knife. I didn't want any form of face-lift, and I'm extremely wary of having injectables because I'm an actor and I need to have an expressive face.

'It's essential for me to have a natural look, not a frozen face, but I was still keen to find out alternative ways to improve my appearance and a friend advised me to give NeoGen a try.

'After doing a bit of research, I could see that Shirley Ballas had got an amazing result with these treatments and now looks about 10 years younger, so I thought I'd give it a go.'

NeoGen is a non-invasive procedure that uses super-heated nitrogen gas to stimulate skin rejuvenation. It creates a controlled heating which tricks the skin into creating large amounts of collagen and elastin, proteins found in the body which give skin its youthful appearance.

Dr McMillan said: 'NeoGen was a good fit for Tamzin because her busy work schedule means she can't afford to have any down-time.

'She would often have filming and auditions which required her to look presentable just 24 hours after a treatment, and that is perfectly possible with NeoGen and so we managed to work around her many acting commitments.

'NeoGen treatments are relatively pain-free but at each session we would apply a numbing cream for 40-minutes prior to the procedure so that there was no discomfort.

'The NeoGen treatment itself would take around 30 minutes, and would cover her neck, top of her chest, and her whole face including around the sensitive eye area.'

Tamzin added that she asked the Dr to focus on areas she was desperate to improve like her jawline and around her eyes.

The Wives actress added: 'After the first three treatments I could really see a major improvement, the general texture of the skin was improved, and where it had looked a bit dull and lifeless before it was now, really radiant and more dewy.'

It comes after Tamzin said she's 'never been happier' after spending the longest stretch of her life without a man.

She revealed she's loving single life and has no plans to rush into dating, despite recently joining a dating app, following her split from 34-year-old personal trainer Tom Child.

In a refreshingly honest chat, Tamzin admitted she struggles to keep up with the app and isn't thrilled at the thought of getting back into the dating scene.

She told The Sun: 'I'm single, I've tried the dating apps. I'm on one now but I keep forgetting to check it.

'I just can't imagine actually going on the date and going back to the small talk. It will happen one day but I'm certainly not waiting for it. I've been single for over a year now and I'm loving it too much.'

The TV favourite, who shot to fame as Mel Owen in EastEnders back in 1998, hasn't spent this much time single in her adult life, having gone from long-term relationship to long-term relationship for decades.

Tamzin explained: 'I owe it to myself to be single, because I haven't been single for this long, ever. I have always been in relationships. I actually like being on my own, it's really nice.'

Her break-up with Tom last year came six years after they first got together.

Tamzin later described it as the 'most respectful and mature' break-up she'd ever experienced - a far cry from her painful 2013 divorce from actor Tom Ellis, who she accused of multiple infidelities.

Despite her growing popularity on screen, Tamzin says love isn't currently a priority, with life as a mum to daughters Florence, 17, and Marnie, 12, taking up too much of her time.

And it's not just parenting that's keeping her busy.

Tamzin's acting career is booming with recent roles in ITV's The Tower and Channel 5's The Wives.

She even joined Strictly Come Dancing's Christmas special last year, though ruled out doing the full series, joking: 'I don't have the patience or the bones at this stage - or muscles.'

Tamzin has also taken health into her own hands, revealing that she dropped a dress size before filming The Wives by ditching booze and exercising daily over six weeks.
