Take Me Out is set to return to TV, seven years after the hit dating show was axed.

Originally hosted by Paddy McGuinness, the ITV show aired from 2010 until 2019 and saw 30 single women turn their lights on or off for each male contestant.

However despite coining the iconic phrase 'no likey, no lighty', in his iconic Bolton accent, Paddy isn't said to be part of producers' plans for the reboot.

Instead they want a 'glamorous female' to front the programme, with the likes of Emily Atack, Olivia Attwood and Leomie Anderson said to be in consideration.

A source revealed: 'Execs at Fremantle, the production company behind the reboot, want to ensure it has the same cheeky tone as the original.

'Emily and Olivia's quick wit and timing make them favourites and Maya Jama was also considered perfect, but her links to Love Island make that tricky.'

They told The Sun: 'Plans are in development now and talks are underway with streamers including Netflix but the landscape of TV is ever-changing, so the reboot could take a number of forms.'

The show saw a man face a panel of 30 single women and, if he didn't appeal to them, they could turn off a light in their pod.

By the end of the game, the bachelor could choose to go on a date to the 'Isle of Fernando's' – Tenerife – with one of the women who still had a light on.

The source added that because the format leaned towards the females being in control and had such a comedic touch, little would need to be changed about the format.

Meanwhile Emily Atack's career has soared over the last few years after she landed the role of Sarah Stratton in Disney+ drama Rivals.

And Olivia Attwood is no stranger to hosting her own show after fronting ITV dating show Bad Boyfriends which has so far had two series, with a third confirmed.

The format saw eight unsuspecting bad boyfriends flown to a Greek island for a lads holiday.

However when they arrive they find out they are actually there to reform their behaviour as their girlfriends secretly watch footage of how they have been acting when they don't think they're being watched.

While Paddy won't be returning to Take Me Out, he is currently being kept busy with plans for his new YouTube channel, which will chronicle his fitness journey.

During an appearance on mixed martial arts fighter Tom Aspinall's podcast, Paddy shared: 'I've got a new YouTube thing starting - I'm going to be getting Tom on one of them - which is more of a fitnessy kind of thing.'

Last year, Paddy completed 75 Hard, the well-known 75-day fitness challenge that involves abstinence from alcohol, a strict diet, drinking four litres of water, two 45-minute workouts and reading 10 pages of non-fiction.

Paddy subsequently credited Steve Coleman, his personal trainer, for helping him to navigate the challenge of 75 Hard.

The actor told Men's Health magazine in March: 'I wouldn't have known where to start and I think that's where a lot of people fall down with training.

'No matter how willing you are and how many times you train, if you have the wrong food at the wrong time, it cocks you up.'
