Sydney Sweeney's R-rated thriller The Housemaid is coming home.

Deadline has revealed the official release date for The Housemaid to be available to all households on Starz on April 1. The film has been available on premium digital and premium video on demand since February 3, after its film premiere on December 19. The adaptation of Freida McFadden's best-selling novel, directed by Paul Feig, became his highest-grossing movie of all time and broke the record for Sweeney, also.

It was reported that The Housemaid has made an estimated $394 million at the global box office, which is a huge feat for Sweeney as it's the highest-grossing movie she's ever had. The record was previously held by Quentin Tarantino's movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which grossed over $377 million worldwide. This comes after her 2025 biopic, Christy, was a major box-office flop for the star and had the worst second weekend drop at 92%.

Sweeney is currently awaiting the release of her role reprisal as Cassie Howard in the long-awaited third season of Euphoria, set to premiere on April 12 on HBO Max. Currently, there has been some drama unfolding surrounding its release, with the series' composer Labrinth seemingly abandoning the series, and calling them out on Instagram, stating "double f**k Euphoria."

The Housemaid also stars Brandon Sklenar, known for Yellowstone's prequel 1923, as well as Seyfried, who is known for Mamma Mia! and Mean Girls. Seyfried is also celebrating the release of The Testament of Ann Lee, as well as being in production for four other projects, including Ted: The Animated Series, The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, Skinny Dip, and it's rumored she will return for the sequel The Housemaid's Secret.

It was confirmed that the second McFadden novel, The Housemaid's Secret, would be adapted with Sweeney returning as Millie after the events of the first movie, and working with a new family called the Garricks. Feig will also be returning to direct the sequel, and of course, Seyfried could potentially make a return as Nina.

The Housemaid will be available to stream on Starz from April 1.
