Nobody compares to Louis Tomlinson at the 2025 Super Bowl.

Nearly five months after Liam Payne’s sudden death in Argentina, his former One Direction bandmate made his way to New Orleans Feb. 9 to watch the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX.

For the event, the 33-year-old kept it casual on the purple carpet with a Miu Miu checkered bomber jacket, dark-wash jeans and a pair of white sneakers. Other celebs—including Taylor Swift, Ice Spice and Megan Thee Stalliontook a trip to the Crescent City as well, though some might admit that they are most excited for Kendrick Lamar’s epic halftime performance.

For the “Back to You” singer, his rare outing is one of few since Liam tragically died from a three-story fall off of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires Oct. 16. He was just 31. After all, the two shared an unbreakable bond. And the day after he heard about the tragic accident, the “Miss You” singer—as well as bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik—paid tribute to his best friend with a heartbreaking message before reuniting to honor him at his funeral one month later.

“I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother,” Louis wrote in an Oct. 17 Instagram post. “Liam was somebody I looked up to everyday, such a positive, funny, and kind soul.”

“I feel beyond lucky to have had you in my life but I’m really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye,” he continued. “I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours, reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life.”

And beyond seeing Liam as a brother, Louis—who shares son Freddie, 8, with ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth—went on to promise the late singer that his son Bear, who the late singer shares with ex Cheryl Cole, would forever have his love and support.

“I want you to know,” Louis added, “that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was.”
