Suits: L.A. Will Finally Give Us The Harvey Specter Story That Suits Couldnt If Gabriel Macht Returns For The Spinoff

If Gabriel Macht returns for Suits: L.A. even if as a cameo, the upcoming Suits spinoff will finally deliver the Harvey Specter story that the original show couldn’t. From the moment we met Macht’s character in the pilot to Suits’ series finale, Harvey Specter was always at the top of his game and bragging about how he only plays in the “Major Leagues.” One of Harvey Specter’s defining traits was experiencing life at the highest level possible, particularly when it came to his job.

Harvey’s world changed a lot during Suits' nine-season run, particularly after he met Mike Ross. Not only were they in on a fraud together, but the junior associate without a law degree helped Harvey understand that there was more to their profession than working for the biggest clients in the country. Harvey Specter was known as the best closer in New York City, a reputation he was very proud of and fought to keep. However, at the end of Suits, Harvey decided to leave the corporate lawyer life behind him and joined Mike’s legal clinic.

Harvey Specter Would Be Defending The “Little Guy” If He Appears In Suits: L.A.

Assuming Harvey and Donna are still in Seattle working with Michael and Rachel, Gabriel Macht’s character would be representing the “little guy” if he were to appear in the upcoming Suits: L.A. In other words, for the first time since the inception of the Suits franchise, Harvey would be working for clients who don’t have a lot of money and cannot afford the best possible legal defense. Granted, Harvey has done pro bono cases and would sometimes help Mike in whatever David and Goliath battles his protégé encountered, but not regularly.

Harvey Specter briefly worked as Assistant District Attorney before being hired by Jessica.

Harvey didn’t really care about making money, but he was driven by cases involving powerful clients where a lot was at stake. This is why it would be so fascinating to see Harvey Specter working representing clients from a legal clinic, especially if they were going up against powerful players and corporations. Someone who reached out to Mike’s clinic would never have the money to afford an attorney like Harvey, yet they would now be represented by one of the most famous and successful lawyers in the Suits universe.

Harvey Working Outside The Major Leagues Should’ve Happened More Often In Suits

Harvey Working With Fewer Resources Would’ve Been Fun

Harvey defined his entire personality around “playing on the major leagues” and experiencing life in a way that most people don’t. “Life is this, I like this” was his motto, which made even more sense once we started learning more about why Harvey was the way he was. That said, it would have been a lot of fun to see Harvey working without the resources he had at Pearson Specter Litt and going up against clients who were far more powerful and influential than his.

7 Reasons Why Suits’ L.A. Spinoff Is Better Than A Suits Revival

After 9 seasons, Suits came to an end, and, despite a resurgence of popularity on Netflix, the franchise's future is better off in Suits L.A.'s hands.

Harvey’s approach to law did change thanks to Mike, and that became obvious in Suits season 9. After marrying Donna and saving the firm from Faye Richardson, Harvey realized there was nothing else left for him to do in New York. A Harvey Specter cameo in Suits: L.A. showing him living a more peaceful life while working at Mike’s legal clinic would be a great way to revisit the character while doing something that Suits never did.
