Another Stranger Things star has eyes on the MCU. Ever since the hit science fiction horror series rose in popularity on Netflix, fans have followed the up-and-coming stars to each of their new projects, some of which have already made the leap to the superhero genre. With a handful of the show's stars already finding their place in Disney's media juggernaut, it's no surprise that another member of the cast wants a piece of the action.
So far, three Stranger Things cast members have also joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first was David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian and made his debut in Black Widow. The second was Joseph Quinn, who entered the MCU as Johnny Storm (aka Human Torch) in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. And third is Sadie Sink, who's set to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But with Marvel Studios now setting a countdown for Avengers: Doomsday, another Stranger Things alumnus wants in, not as a hero, but as a villain.
Joe Keery played Steve Harrington in Stranger Things since the show's first season in 2016. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, he revealed he has his eye on the Spider-Man franchise. According to the actor, he's aware of fan edits of him playing Harry Osborn, aka the Green Goblin, who has yet to appear in the MCU. While he said "it's fun to entertain" the possibility, when asked if he's going to join his Netflix co-stars in the superhero franchise, he gave an impressively vague answer, saying, "the right thing happens at the right time," and he's ready to see a script.
"I guess you just keep your eyes open, and you read a ton and just hope for the best, I guess. [But] sure. Come on. Where's the script? Let's go."
What Is Next For The 'Spider-Man' Franchise?
The Spider-Man franchise has been busy lately, both in and out of the MCU. Spider-Man: Brand New Day wrapped production in December 2025 and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. The film is set to feature the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker and will also star Sink in an undisclosed role, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Zendaya as MJ. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will also feature Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Tramell Tillman (Severance), and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear).
Meanwhile, Prime Video's Spider-Man series, Spider-Noir, is also set to debut this year and will be available to stream in black-and-white and "true-hue color." Images for the upcoming superhero show have been released, and the show will star Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly/The Spider. Also starring in Spider-Noir are Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Jack Huston as the Sandman, and Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane.
All five seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix. Follow Collider to stay up to date with the latest updates.
