Steven Yeun Signs With CAA

EXCLUSIVE: Oscar-nominated actor and producer Steven Yeun has signed with CAA for representation.

Perhaps best known for his role of Glenn Rhee on AMC’s The Walking Dead, Yeun was most recently seen in Netflix action thriller The Rip, Bong Joon Ho’s sci-fi actioner Mickey 17 and Sundance pic Love Me. He is currently an executive producer on Season 2 of A24/Netflix series Beef. Through their ongoing first-look television deal with Netflix, Yeun and his producing partner Christina Oh’s Celadon Pictures produced the second installment of Beef, which premiered on the streamer on April 16.

Yeun, who starred with Ali Wong in Season 1 of Beef, earned an Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics Choice and SAG award for his performance as Danny Cho. As a producer, he and the series also won at each respective award show, in addition to the Independent Spirit Award for Best New Scripted Series and the David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of a Limited Series at the Producers Guild Awards.

Yeun received an Academy Award nomination for Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Lee Isaac Chung’s Oscar-nominated Minari for A24, on which he also served as an executive producer. For his portrayal of Jacob, Yeun was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild, Critics Choice, and Independent Spirt Award.

Up next, he will star in Animals for Netflix, alongside Kerry Washington and Ben Affleck, who also directs. He also voices Zuko in Paramount’s highly anticipated animated feature The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, scheduled for release October 9.

Yeun’s additional film credits include Jordan Peele’s Nope; Chang-Dong Lee’s Burning, for which he won the National Society of Film Critics Award and Los Angeles Film Critics Circle for Best Supporting Actor; Stephen Karam’s A24 drama The Humans;  Boots Riley’s comedy Sorry To Bother You; Joe Lynch’s Mayhem; and Mike Cahill’s indie sci-fi drama I Origins.

He served as an executive producer for the documentary Nam June Paik: Moon Is The Oldest TV, and has also lent his voice to numerous animated projects, including reprising his role in Amazon’s Invincible, Dreamwork’s The Star, Netflix’s Tuca & Bertie, Voltron, and Stretch Armstrong, Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters and the spinoff 3 Below.
