Steve Guttenberg Joins First Responders to Battle Palisades Fires

“To the residents of Southern California: We are with you,” President Joe Biden wrote in a Jan. 8 Instagram post. “My team has provided 24/7 weather forecast support, sent 5 Air Tankers and 10 firefighting helicopters, prepositioned dozens of fire engines, approved grants to reimburse firefighting costs, and I've approved Governor Newsom's request for a Major Disaster Declaration.”

“To the brave men and women who ran towards danger over the past 24 hours in Southern California, I want you to know your President, and the rest of the country, is with you,” he wrote in another post to Instagram. “You suited up and risked your lives to save the lives of your fellow Americans. We are indebted to you.”

The Hills alums shared on Jan. 7 that their home sadly burned down during the Palisades fire in Los Angeles.

In a tear-filled TikTok post, Heidi, who evacuated with Spencer and their two sons, shared, “I’m so sad our house is gone. I’m so sad for everyone else going through the same thing. It’s really hard losing your house and everything you worked hard for. So horrible.”

They weren’t the only family members to lose homes in the fire, as Spencer also shared an image to his Instagram Story of a destroyed home, noting alongside crying emojis, “My parents house gone.”

Travis Barker's kids Landon, 21, and Alabama, 19, shared they were forced to leave their residences amid the devastation.

"Just evacuated from my home due to wild fires in Los Angeles, please be safe!!,” Alabama wrote. “They are saying the fires are spreading foodball field amounts in seconds."

The This Is Us alum—who is mom to three kids with husband Taylor Goldsmith—shared an update on her family after having to evacuate their home.

"Evacuated and safe with kids, dog and cats,” she wrote on Instagram Stories Jan. 7. “ Praying and grateful for the first responders."

Later she noted she didn’t “know if our place made it” when adding, “Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night. Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel. Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss.”

From his home, the Frozen actor posted the heartbreaking sight of flames sweeping over Los Angeles in the distance.

“I have never seen flames from my house like this ever,” Josh said in his Jan. 7 Instagram post, “this is insanity. I hope everyone is staying safe tonight. Lots of love, lots of prayers.”

And the 43-year-old wrote a message of support to anyone affected and to those taking action to help the community.

“I hope everyone is staying safe tonight in the affected fire areas in Los Angeles,” he wrote in the caption. “My deepest gratitude and appreciation goes out to our brave fire and rescue and police forces who are doing everything in their power to keep the residents of Los Angeles safe right now.”

The actress shared a heartbreaking message Jan. 7, noting that she was unsure about the state of her home amid the conditions.

"My community and possibly my home is on fire," she wrote on Instagram. "My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well."

"It is a terrifying situation and I'm grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze," she added. "Neighbors have taken care of neighbors. We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives but when it hits your community, it's particularly shocking."

Olivia—who is married to San Francisco 49ers Christian McCaffrey—shared a message of support on her Jan. 7 Instagram Stories.

“Praying for everyone affected by these devastating fires,” she wrote. “Thank you to the heroes working tirelessly to protect our communities and wildlife.“

The Vampires actor was one of the many that lost his home to the destructive fires—but he tried to stay hopeful amid the tragedy.

“We renovated a home after COVID and just finished last month,” the 77-year-old wrote on X, formerly Twitter, Jan. 7. “To all the lovely people offering care and love, I’ll say this. There is no possession as priceless as friends and good neighbors during a tragedy.”

“I can’t believe the blessings we enjoy,” he added, “and I am humbly grateful.”

After evacuating from his Malibu home, the Star Wars actor detailed his experience with a “personal fire update” on behalf of himself, wife Marilou York and pup Trixie.

“7pm—Evacuated Malibu so last-minute,” the 73-year-old wrote in his Instagram post, “small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH.”

“8:15pm—Marilou, Trixie & I arrive at Chelsea’s house in Hollywood,” he said. “Most horrific fire since ’93, STAY SAFE!”

And in hindsight, Mark realized he may have underplayed the size of the fires he witnessed on his way to safety.

“There [were] small fires,” he wrote in the caption of his follow-up, adding, “gimme a break- we were fleeing for our lives. Stay Safe Everyone.”

The Police Academy actor stepped into action to help move cars on Palisades Drive out of the way of the firetrucks. And he implored others to do their part with an “important announcement.”

“What’s happening is people take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot,” the 66-year-old told local news station KTLA 5 Jan. 7. “This is not a parking lot.”

 “We really need people to move their cars,” he explained, “so if you leave your car behind, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up there.”
