Although the price of the latest AAA video games increases on an annual basis, Steam has still got us covered by regularly adding titles to its ever-expanding library that cost absolutely nothing to download and play. With new titles added each month, October is no exception, and the latest batch of arrivals stars six new games that can be downloaded now. No catch.
So, if you are interested in getting stuck into a 3D platformer, a sorting game, and everything in between, look no further than the following Steam games.
First up is Mimic2, an idle incremental MMORPG that allows your battles to continue raging on as you get on with other activities on your PC or even go AFK. Featuring over 7,522 item levels, you will be able to clear mimic maps, hunt bosses, and reach the very top as you enjoy a microtransaction-free experience without all the stress of a standard MMORPG.
Next is MoooooN, a casual 3D platformer where you take on the role of a cow that has always dreamed of jumping over the moon. Luckily, their friends have them covered by creating a course that will end with them heading to the stars and, so, you will have to navigate through various levels and speak to a cast of interesting animal characters as you shoot towards the moon, and hopefully achieve a lifelong dream.
If you are a fan of sorting games and are on the search for one to relax alongside, you will want to check out Lost & Found. Launching earlier this month, this free-to-play sorting game will task you with matching forms with the correct items and build your very own warehouse from the ground up. Whether you play solo or with friends in its multiplayer mode, Lost & Found offers a relaxing experience that currently sits at a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam.
With Halloween just around the corner, now would be the perfect time to check out Evenin' Shift. In this comedy horror game set in Somerset, you will take on the role of Jack, a security officer working what seems like a quiet job in the early 90s. With the simple job of letting the correct people in and turning away the wrong'uns, you would think it would be easy. However, there are strange people hanging around, and it will be up to you to make that distinction.
If you are looking for a roguelike and bullet-hell experience, you will want to check out The Loer Chronicles. In this horde survival title, where you will only get to steer your character, you will need to hit with the right element in order to see your damage doubled. However, if you hit the enemy with the wrong one, it will heal them. As such, you will need to master the elements as you perfect chains and masteries across every run, but with each of the 15 realms hiding an Elemental Lord, you had better make sure that you know your elements.
Last but not least is Portentum, a cryptid deck-building auto battler where you will perfect broken combos in order to wield cards inspired by the likes of Bigfoot, Jimothy, Nessie, and the Chupacabra. Inspired by mythological beings, this card game is perfect to spend a few hours with without having to worry about anything else. As the description reads, "If somebody's uncle saw it in the woods in 1973, there's a good chance it's a card in Portentum."
