The highly anticipated upcoming RPG by Obsidian, Avowed, is heading to Blizzard's Battle.Net launcher upon release. This means fans of two very different franchises can get their hands on the title in a very interesting way.
Titles that are available through the Blizzard launcher application are purchasable with gold within World of Warcraft, meaning that those who wish to get their hands on 2025's most anticipated RPG can do so without dishing out hard-earned cash. This can be done with the use of WoW tokens, which are available on the Auction House within World of Warcraft for a pretty penny -- or shiny gold. Though this isn't the most straightforward method, it is a very odd one.
WoW Tokens Can Be Used To Purchase Avowed
The Process Is A Bit Tedious But Could Be Worth It For Gold Famers
First reported by IGN, Microsoft announced that Avowed would be released on the Battle.Net launcher, which came as a bit of a shock to fans. The key takeaway here is the fact that in-game gold can be used to purchase the title, with a little elbow grease put into the process, of course. Since WoW Tokens are purchasable from the in-game Auction House, for around 263,000 gold at the time of writing, players could in theory get their hands on several and sell them back to Blizzard for $15, which is added to the player's Battle.Net balance.

Xbox's Most Exciting Exclusive Has Bad News For Series X Players
As Xbox fans around the world prepare for Avowed's launch, Obsidian has bad news for Xbox Series X players hoping for a next-gen experience.
Though this would be over 1 million gold, as players would most likely need to buy between five and six WoW Tokens to trade into Blizzard, it could be lucrative for gold farmers who already have that kind of gold lying around. While the average player doesn't have millions of gold to play around with, this could be a great way to make in-game gold for those not interested in buying Avowed at the moment, as this information could spike the price of the Token by a decent margin.
Our Take: Avowed Might Be More Accessible To New Players
Sometimes, Adding An Alternate Way To Purchase A Title Can Be Lucrative
With Avowed releasing on February 18, 2025, to Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox App on Windows, and now the Battle.Net launcher, more players will have access to the title. With that in mind, some fans might be more inclined to purchase the title using their time rather than their money, thanks to this WoW Token feature. While that may end up not being the case, it is an interesting addition to the Blizzard Launcher.
It is worth noting that the Premium Edition of Avowed will cost $89.99, but offers five days early access, while the cheapest version is $69.99. As an avid gold farmer myself, this almost makes me feel like it is a challenge of sorts. It makes me want to get into World of Warcraft and take on my old farming methods to stockpile enough gold to purchase Avowed without having to break the bank, all while enjoying all that WoW has to offer. One can only wonder if other fans of either franchise share in my sentiment, or if they would rather just take the road most traveled and purchase the title themselves.
